Otis patches are a bit ...

Otis patches are a bit expensive but they do work very well. These thicker patches are ideal for anything .30 cal and above however they work best between .30 and .35. In the 9mm caliber range, you don't have to be that precise in where you pinch the patch, but I found with .45 caliber it's a bit difficult to find a good spot where the patch will be tight enough; basically as far away from the slotted tip as possible works best. Otis advertises 6 uses per patch (1 use per each of the 3 slots per side), but I find 2-3 uses is more realistic. The first couple patches will probably be so fouled up you're likely to get 2 uses at most, but once they get cleaner, you can start utilizing the other slots more so without dragging so dirty a patch back through the bore again. 50 patches doesn't sound like much, and it really isn't, but they always seem to last longer than I figure initially. I end up using about 5 of them or so per cleaning session. I wish they came in discounted packs of 100+.

I use these patches with my Otis kit. They work great on my .30 cal bores. The Otis "all-caliber" patches aren't tight enough, but these are perfect. Otis also calls these "Panoply Patches."
