Sweet Smith and Wesson

I installed this on my Smith & Wesson 586-2. I have not shot it yet but with the #13 spring it feels fantastic. Night and day difference from stock. Double action is now great for carry use and single action is superb for hunting.

very easy install with 5 dollar tool and the free video from midway on youtube. trigger pull is much smoother in my 686. dont hesitate. solid investment.

I have installed many of these spring kits and the end result is sweet. If you have never taken the sideplate off of a S&W revolver and don't know how I recommend buying the DVD Trigger Job by Jerry Miculek which I bought here from Midway. It goes into great detail on how to do a trigger job on S&W revolvers. Well worth the $20. After watching it you will feel comfortable tearing one apart, honing all the correct parts and installing this spring kit. The end trigger pull will be about 1/3 the weight of the original. You may need to use Federal Primers which are the softest to prevent light strikes on the primers. It depends how much you lighten the trigger. You also need to match your trigger return spring with the weight of the mainspring for optimal performance if you are shooting competition. Hope this helps.

Installed two of these in my Smiths, one in an older Model 57 41 magnum and the other in a 686 357. Before and after results with the Lyman digital pull gauge were outstanding, reducing pulls by approximately 1 1/4 pounds each gun. I'm ordering two more for my K-38 and K-22. You have to know how to properly diassemble/re-assemble the S&W revolver to install these kits. I recommend Midway's DVD on the S&W revolver.

I put this kit in my Smith 686-3. While Smith and Wesson triggers are usually pretty good from the factory, after installing this kit the trigger is now absolutely match-grade. Simply the BEST trigger pull of any firearm I have ever touched, bar none. The install was also fairly easy. Anyone who works on their own firearms can do this in 20 minutes or so (no tools needed, at least in my case). The only problem: After installing the kit, it really makes my other guns feel like garbage. I wish they all had triggers that were this nice!

Best money I ever spent on gun upgrades. The difference is night and day. Install wasn't too bad, just make sure you order the wheeler install tool, less than 5 bucks. No way I could have done the job without it. Thanks midway, love the action on my Smith 629.

The mainspring install is ...

The mainspring install is a breeze. The trigger return spring however isn't that easy. The specialized tool is needed. It's not optional. I ended up making my own from an old screwdriver. Once I did that, it was easy. I installed the #12 spring w/o any issues in both a S&W 686+ and 617.

Installed this kit in a model 686 and love the performance. So much easier to shoot and no problems with not having enough power to fire even on the harder primers.Very easy install and the three trigger springs made tuning a breeze. A special thanks to Mr. Potterfield for the installation video on YouTube, that really helped a bunch.

I sent a S&W model 14 to ...

I sent a S&W model 14 to S&W and paid $115 for a trigger job. I paid $11.95 for this spring kit and put it in a S&W model 17. There is a world of difference. The model 17 is far better! I just ordered another spring kit.
