This was a great product for the first year of ownership (Largely mirroring what others have said here). In my experience afterwards in the second year it has been nothing but trouble. The battery life became excessive as it drains power even while turned off. Finally about two years after purchasing the laser is now totally dead without much use on my part.Overall as far as a range toy this is a great deal of fun, but between the poor battery life and the devices untimely demise I would NEVER trust it for a true life or death situation.

Update to previous review. Sent unit to Viridian, no change upon return. I decided to "soften" the plastic "rail adapters" with a lighter then squeeze with pliers to slight increase the length dimensions for a tighter fit into the laser unit. While still warm, I then slid the enlarged rail adapters into unit, effectively making a perfect molded tight fit as the rail adapters then cooled while installed in the laser unit. Tightened everything up, and now the laser will not shift in its mount system. POI is now rock solid while shooting and between sessions. Viridian should do something about the plastic rail tolerances, however. They are too loose. Remember, we are talking here about the fit from the rail adapters as they slide into the laser, not the rail adapters to rail fit. The rail adapters to rail interface is very snug from the factory and there are no issues there.

Made in USA. Way to go Veridian. Laser performance is amazing, I could see it 500 yds away at night. 200lumen light is good, casts a relatively wide beam as you would want in a weapon light.I give a fair rating for fit. The light has plastic "rail adapters" that screw into the light and then to the rail. Even when tightened completely into the light, the fit is somewhat loose and the light moves within the adapters. at 15 yds, I can manually move the light ~3" POI up or down with light pressure. Have not shot this system yet.Was tight fit to the SW1911TA rail.

Wow is all I really have to say! This is a really neat laser and you can tell that there is nothing cheap about it! I was kind of reticent on buying this product because of the price but I was thinking why go cheap on an expensive pistol. I have mounted this on my FN FiveSeven and it is something else; I can shine this about 200 yards at night and still see the dot perfectly! I just went to the rifle range and sighted it in and now I am ready to go! The process was pretty simple to figure out! I figured if you go cheap on such a nice pistol, you will get what you pay for! So I went a little bit out of my price range and got this outstanding piece and I am very pleased!

I got one of these to put on my FN Five-seveN. It is a perfect match to the pistol in fit and finish. The green laser can bee seen during the day at pistol ranges, and at night, goes several hundred meters. The price of this compared to other quality green lasers on the market is great. It uses CR2 batteries. I especially like how at night the laser bounces off of moisture and dust in the air, leaving a visible trail. I imagine it would be very intimidating to attackers.The light is claimed at 90 lumens constant, but it seems slightly dimmer. It does have a very wide beam, so that may be why it seems dimmer. If you want to count on this for a rifle, the laser is perfect, but the light may be too dim for you outdoors. Perfect for pistols.
