Grip is much narrower ...

Grip is much narrower than factory. This is my first set of Pachmayr grips and it was a pretty sorry grip. Rubber on front of grip near trigger guard did not meet up well. It looked terrible and rubbed my finger the wrong way. Pinky groove was too far down for my hand. (Large hand, average finger thickness). The grip also caused my hand to move down on the gun; I can only imagine the uncontrollable recoil I'd of had if I took it to the range.

Grips are very soft and ...

Grips are very soft and feel like they would absorb recoil well. The problem is they do not close properly along the front seem at the ring finger groove. I tried the regular grippers and now the decelerators and both had the same issue. I will be returning them. I ordered some presentation grips at the same time and although I like grippers these are the best fit to my hand I have found.

The Decelerator is a much ...

The Decelerator is a much better grip than the Hogue grip that came standard with my 4 inch barrel 45 Colt Ruger Redhawk. The Decelerator has a covered back strap where as the Hogue is exposed. An exposed back strap grip is usually not an issue when shooting standard 45 Colt loads. But shooting Heavy Magnum 45 Colt loads is a different story. The Decelerator's finger grooves are more reasonably spaced apart than the ridiculously wide finger grooves on the Hogue grip. The latter practically separates your pinky from your ring finger if your hand is not of an extra large size.

Maybe they absorb recoil, ...

Maybe they absorb recoil, I never made it that far. They don't fit and because they don't fit they look like garbage. I'd be too embarassed to take my Redhawk out wearing these grips. Pachmayr should add a tube of caulk and a roll of duck tape, it would help the fit and couldn't hurt the finished appearance.

I have always used Hogue ...

I have always used Hogue grips but now after trying Pac decelerators on my Redhawks I am putting them on my SRH and GP100. They fit just fine. I think some people may try to put Redhawk grips on Super Redhawk and that will not work. I am very happy with the decelerator and it takes pain out of the picture when firing a lot of rounds for practice.
