I installed two of these ...

I installed two of these on my LCRs in less than 20 minutes. The sight picture improvement is obvious and instantly gratifying. For me it means no more frustration trying to get a halfway decent sight picture when aiming at a black target. I used a small punch (1/16) purchased here on Midway, and a rubber mallet to drive out the old pin. And thanks to a tip I got from a Youtube video, after starting the replacement pin by hand, I took a vise grips pliers, used the screw to adjust the amount of grip each time, and gently squeezed the pin back in place instead of trying to drive it in and possibly ding up the barrel. Super simple.

Found a Ruger forum that showed step by step install. Get a small punch and tap out the pin. Off comes factory black sight, put on HiViz and punch the pin back on. Big difference. I always need to change a black front sight on a gun! Buy it.

This is an excellent sight if there is some light present, even a dim light, to make the litepipe work properly. For dark situations you will need a glow-in-the-dark sight, such as a Tritium night sight. Installation of this sight is easy. Use a sturdy 1/16" roll pin punch to remove the factory sight. I used a kitchen paring knife to pry the Ruger sight off the mounting posts. The HiViz sight fits well on the Ruger LCR barrel and a 3/32" roll pin punch easily sets the new and included roll pin.

Tried the RED one ...

Tried the RED one first... don't waste your time and hard-earned dollars -- not much better than the factory ramp-sight! In low-light outdoors, it just shows up as a black dot. Cannot be seen at all when indoors. Placed another order for the GREEN one and installed it as soon as it arrived... MUCH BETTER!! It is highly visible in any outdoor lighting conditions and can even be seen indoors during the daylight hours. Used my Lyman Roll Pin Punches (also from Midway!!) and the installation(s) were a breeze. Thanks Midway!

Sight installation was fast and easy. Only issue is it's a bit taller than the factory sight. Visibility is great in all lighting conditions. Overall a great but for anyone with a LCR.

Changed the front sight ...

Changed the front sight on my Ruger LCR with the Hi Viz Green front sight with excellent results. The front sight is much more visible. The Hi Viz sight is a direct replacement for the factory original sight. Use a roll pin punch to remove the original sight. Place the new sight on the barrel and use a roll pin starter punch to start the roll pin then follow with a roll pin punch.

The HiViz front sight for ...

The HiViz front sight for the Ruger Mark III is a must have if you want to get the most out of your pistol. The factory front sight can be difficult to pick up in low light conditions whereas the HiViz practically glows. I have had one on mine for years and bought one for my wife's and her groups shrank immediately. I have over 10,000 rounds through my Ruger and never had to fool with the sight once it was installed. Buy one- you won't regret it.

BIG improvement over ...

BIG improvement over Ruger standard sight. No drilling required as the unit comes drilled to fit. Hardest part was re-installing the cross pin. You will need a very small punch. I think this is a must have upgrade to anyone who carries the LCR on a daily basis. Add the laser grips and it's ready for 24 hour operation.
