I replaced the factory ...

I replaced the factory Williams front sight blade/bead on my Savage 10FCM Scout with a Williams firesight blade (.375") and this hood to keep it from being damaged as I bang around the woods of Pennsylvania.Pros: Fit perfectly, slid right on. Provides enough light to fiber optic bead to keep it functioning.Cons: When looking through the rear sight, the circle made by the front sight hood is not centered in the rear sight circle, and the top of the front sight blade is not centered in the circle made by the front sight hood. This is not a show stopper, but forces you to focus on the front sight blade tip only and center it within the rear sight picture. (Which is what you should be doing in the first place!) To fix this, Williams would have to have a different diameter front hood to use with each different height front sight blade.)If I were using this on a match competition rifle, I would pick something else, but on a hunting-in-the-woods-of-Pennsylvania rifle, it really will make no significant difference.

This Hood fit my old ...

This Hood fit my old Belgium Made BAR perfectly! Of course, it was fitted, from the factory, with Williams Sights... Use this with a fiber-optic front sight for enhanced targeting.
