True drop-in fit on my ...

True drop-in fit on my Kimber Custom II. Fits as good or slightly better than the factory bushing, and is flush with the crown of the barrel. It's a really slick look, but the bluing on the one I got is more purple-ish than the picture shows.

Bought this bushing about ...

Bought this bushing about two years ago. I had to turn the OD (that's why I bought it, so I could hand-fit the bushing) to fit the slide but it was well worth it. Beautifully tight fit to the slide and the inner diameter was perfect without any need to relieve any of the metal for a great fit. EGW is definitely one of the premiere parts suppliers for the 1911 pistol. When people need parts I direct them to EGW every time.

I own a Springfield ...

I own a Springfield Armory Operator, and I wanted a new barrel bushing for it so I could make it even tighter and honestly I wanted a blue steeled barrel bushing for looks too. I went on EGW's website to hopefully get some detailed info on this piece but I couldn't find anything. But for the price I decided to take the gamble. I knew it was going to require some fitting, which it did. After about 15 minutes of sanding, some CLP and the use of a barrel bushing wrench I had this piece installed on my own. Nothing fancy needed to be done just some minor fitting. I would suggest getting a rust preventative for it after you sand it. Overall it looks great with my Operator, I just have to have a bushing wrench with me whenever I want to take it apart.

Great product. Much ...

Great product. Much thicker, beefier part than stock. VERY TIGHT fit in my Springfield Loaded. Bevel looks very finished, very nice asthetic look with slide/barrel. Needed to really push in firmly to seat in slide initially (VERY TIGHT FIT/TOLERANCES), then rotated (well oiled bushing) repeatedly to smooth into bushing slide groove. Has loosened up some, but not much. Still a VERY TIGHT FIT; requires bushing wrench to turn, and gently "hammering out" bushing with barrel to remove bushing from slide. Again, this is a VERY TIGHT FIT. Should loosen up a bit more over time. Nice fit to barrel diameter. Required no removal of metal for "fitting", drop-in, but still a VERY TIGHT fit. Significant improvement in tightness of groups. Runs reliably. Highly recommended.
