I've been using these ...

I've been using these magazines for over twenty years now in my 1006, with 100% reliability. The magazine/gun combination is so dependable that I can even show off by loading the magazine full of nine fired cases, then chambering and ejecting all of them by racking the slide by hand. I can also say that the springs hold up incredibly well, with one magazine being kept fully loaded for over a decade now, yet I occasionally test that magazine before reloading it to check for failures, and I get not a SINGLE failure to load or eject each time. Also, the gripes about the magazine follower being plastic are completely bogus. Having a slick plastic follower instead of metal makes it self-lubricating, and my lengthy experience with these magazines bears that out. Speaking from experience from my time as a Gunner's Mate in the Navy, I can point out that we had to lightly lubricate the magazines for our 1911A1s because the followers were steel, and even then, I frequently saw failures to feed or extract at the range, even though we kept them immaculate.

These are the factory ...

These are the factory mags. They work perfectly. Don't understand requests fort metal followers. Nobody uses metal followers. The original were yellow plastic. the new are white plastic. Waiting for the next batch arrive to add three more... Shoot perfectly in my 1076 and 1006.

Overall, a very good product. It is well made, but I would prefer a metal follower to the plastic one actually used. Feeding and function have been flawless for me.

Overall a good product, ...

Overall a good product, but definitely needs a metal follower instead of plastic. The plastic wears out after a while and the slide won't lock back after the last round is fired.

I haven't used these ...

I haven't used these magazines yet. Just wanted to stock up because I had been told they are discontinued. Smith & Wesson magazines have worked flawlessly in the past for me and I am sure these will be no different. Fit and finish are excellent.

I have used Smith & ...

I have used Smith & Wesson magazines in my duty pistol for 15 years, they have never failed, the concerns about the plastic followers in other reviews is pure nonsense, these magazines were DESIGNED to use the followers supplied in them and will give you a lifetime of use as long as you don't drop them on the feed lips- but then again that goes for any quality magazine. After 15 years of use the springs are a little softer than a new one but the function has not changed in the slightest.
