Wolff Shooter's Packs contain reliable springs which provide a great improvement in the overall trigger pull and hammer function. Installation requires disassembly and reassembly of the revolver.

Smith and Wesson J-Frame Models: 31, 32, 34, 36, 37, 38, 42, 422, 49, 60, 63,, 631, 632, 637, 640, 642, 649, and 940
Kit Contains:

1 each 8 pound reduced hammer springs.

1 each 13, 14, and 15 pound reduced power rebound springs.
Notes:

Factory return spring is 15 pounds.

Hammer springs control the "feel" of the trigger.

Trigger return springs control the force required to depress the trigger.

Installation of a lighter spring makes it easier to depress the trigger.

Installation requires disassembly and reassembly of the pistol.

My S&W 638 really wasn't much fun to fire with the extremely heavy factory springs. I couldn't maintain point aim with DA. After installation of this kit, I can hardly believe it's the same gun. DA firing is dramatically improved - actually fun/ Very smooth trigger action. I couldn't be happier.

This spring kit will improve the trigger pull on your S&W and make it much easier and smoother without making it so light it's dangerous. It's easy to do the job yourself, but I highly recommend you get product 382240 to make the job much easier. An unbent paper clip also helps when removing and replacing the hammer spring (compress the spring before you remove it and put the paper clip through little hole to hold the spring in place. Reverse the procedure when putting the new spring in). Takes about 5 minutes with the tool and the paper clip.

I installed these on my S&W 637. Used the 8lb hammer spring and the 14lb trigger spring. Made a big difference in smoothing out the trigger pull and I just fired 200 rounds through it. No misfires or issues at all. Extremely happy I installed these.

May I highly recommend this Smith and Wesson J Frame RP Shooters Pak spring kit for whoever owns a Rossi Model R461 revolver in .357. This kit changed the factory double action trigger pull from over 20 lbs. to a crisp smooth 8 lb. pull. This Rossi revolver is now a real pleasure to shoot in the double action mode.

Got this for my S&W 649 ...

Got this for my S&W 649 357 snub. I used the reduced power hammer/mainspring and the 14-pound trigger return spring. This brought the double action trigger pull from about 9.5 pounds to about 7 pounds and the single action from 3.5 to 2.5 pounds. No light strikes or ignition failures with the shorter double action hammer throw even with the magnum primers. No trigger reset problems during fast double action shooting. I am not a gunsmith but installation is easy; just do it on a clean table preferably in a light-colored tray to catch any small parts. For less than $10 and 15 minutes you can get a nice trigger job that provides less trigger finger fatigue, improves accuracy, and doesn't compromise reliability.

I used the 14 pound rebound spring and my RCBS trigger pull gauge showed a very consistant 2-3/4 lb single-action pull and something just over 9 lbs on double action (gauge scale only goes to 8 lbs). Hint: Use a #55 drill to hold the hammer spring for removal.

I installed this pack on a S&W 637. The new hammer and trigger return springs offer a smoother, lighter trigger pull with none of the stacking I experienced with the factory springs. My revolver went from a 12 lb+ double action pull to an estimated 8 or 9 lb pull. The smoothness of the pull makes it seem even lighter than it is.Installation was simple. I have never had the side plate off my revolver before but with the help of the Wheeler Professional Gunsmithing Set, I had the springs switched out in about 15 minutes. Much cheaper and easier than sending it off to a gunsmith for an action job!
