Product Information

The Golden Saber High Performance Jacket successfully combines four critical elements of handgun bullet performance: match-type accuracy, deep penetration, maximum expansion and virtually 100% weight retention. This ammunition also features primer and mouth waterproofing for long-term reliability, nickel-plated cases for reliable feeding, treated powders for low muzzle flash and primers that are triple-inspected during the manufacturing process. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Bought this to fire in one of my Walther semi autos...nothing but hit after it and no hangups.
The round is accurate (as much as it needs to be) and is clean....my Karl Walther 380 luvs it

Shot a box of this ammo ...

Shot a box of this ammo in my S&W Bodyguard 380 with no issues. The BG 380 has been broken in with mainly Fiocchi 95 gr FMJ and today was the first time I tried JHP ammo on this gun. A bit more of a kick, but not so much really and the ammo feed with no issues. I am considering this as my main SD load and after today's test I feel comfortable with it.

I have shot over 100 of these thru my Interams PPK and another couple boxes thru the S & W PPK. No fails to feed , jams, etc. Very accurate, feels like most other .380 ammunition. Shooting at a 2x4 in wet sand I see the round just is starting to expand as it exits the board. Compared to .380 ammunition 20 years ago this shows impressive performance. Certainly worth carrying.

I use these in my Smith and Wesson 380 Bodyguard and it eats them up like candy, I shot these in water and they open up perfect, I know this is not a good test, it is just for info.

Expanded well in a coyote ...

Expanded well in a coyote at about 50ft attacking my dog 1 shot 1 kill. My Kel-Tec has no issues with them. Check with your gun maker prior to shooting +P ammo like the lcp says not to use +P the Kel-Tec just says not to only use them. Be safe don't over stress your gun you never know when or how it may fail.

Second favorite load in .380acp. Fired 50rds from both a Keltec, and a Bersa. Zero problems, mild recoil, and visible difference in damage on tree stumps from fmj ammo.

I like the concept of the brass jacket but at 380 ACP velocities I'm not sure it will actually expand. Any hollow point at these velocities is iffy for expansion regardless of what milk jug, wet newspaper, or even ballistic gelatin tests show. FMJ bullets are not bad choices in the under 1000 FPS range. I did have two failures to feed in my LCP in the first two boxes but the gun was just being broken in.

Excellent performance ...

Excellent performance from my Sig P232, I had no malfunctions after over 100+ rounds. Accuracy is phenomenal- 1 1/2" at 50 feet offhand for 5 shots, avg of 3 groups. I was impressed enough to try it at 50 yards on 8" steel plates- again, great accuracy, hitting the plates every shot from a full mag, which is far more than you ought to expect from a pocket pistol. Chrony data averaged 933 fps with the temps in the 60s for 5 shots- close enough to factory specs on a cool day for me. Energy transfer on a 1/2 gallon milk jug of water was dramatic, and expansion in wet newsprint was perfect for 3 rounds. Would I trust my life to this round? Absolutely. It's the best .380 load I have ever tested, and accurate enough in my pistol for small game as well (have taken two snowshoe hare and three squirrels with it to date). If you are looking for a .380 defense load, buy these- you won't be disappointed.

Great cartridge for the .380. I use these in my Ruger LCP. The nose is a little rounder than most of the .380 hollowpoints, which lends itself to better feeding in my gun. Never had a feed problem, excellent accuracy. These rounds penetrate great in the tests I've seen, with no core separation problems and excellent weight retention. In my opinion, these are the best .380 self defense loads on the market.
