Great set of dies

As the most of Lee dies this set is no different. Great quality for a reasonable price. Only wish that Lee would offer a set that includes a neck sizing die along with the full sizing one. Instead had to buy two sets.

Great dies, great results, I have used Lee dies exclusively for over 25 years, they have always produced quality & accurate ammunition for all my firearms (8 calibers in all). I especially like the factory crimp dies, I think they are the key to great accuracy!

A good deal because it includes the shell holder, which costs extra withother die sets. Lee's precision is plenty "good enough" for old Mausersand plinking, or casual hunting loads. I don't recommend this die set for case forming, however. The air bleed hole in the sizing die scratches the case neck a lot. This is only a problem when making 8mm cases from .30-06, for example, not when sizing real 8mm brass. Lee provides loads using the single powder dipper and commercial bullets.However, unless you stock a LOT of powders and bullets, your optionshere will be very limited. On top of that, the loads are conservative,weight-wise, for what the dipper will actual deliver. Since SAAMI 8mmMauser loads are conservative in the first place, you can expect .30-30velocities or less, primer protrusion, and lack of chamber forming(all low pressure signs). As with all reloading, it is best to purchase aquality scale, work from more than one loading manual, and weigh all your charges.

I reload for several pistols (9mm, 38 Spl, 357, 357SIG, 7.62Tokarev) and rifles (223, 6.5x55, 7.5 French, 308, 8mm Mau, etc.), and all with Lee dies exclusively. I started out in reloading by using RCBS dies ( I didn't listen to an old timer friend ). These RCBS dies now sit in their boxes, getting a spray of anti-rust every now and againbut get no use (I should try to sell them). I was introduced to Lee Dies by reforming 7.5 French, from 6.5x55 Swedish--I was instantly sold, and started replacing my RCBS dies with Lee ones.The aluminum cap adjustment on the seating die of the Lee is greatbest around. RCBS uses a set screw, a threaded rod and lock-nut for adjustment, which requires half an hour and the use of an Allen wrench, screwdriver and wrench to set. Lee dies require finger pressure/twist, and (maybe) 5 minutes to set. I have noticed no practical difference between RCBS and Lee die-loaded ammo. The Lee dies rust no quicker here in humid N.C. than RCBS, and the finish/machining is equally good on the inside ( where it counts ). The one and only complaint I have about Lee dies, is that when new, they come from the factory with some filings in the threads of the lock-cap of the seating die, and in the body of the resizer.Whenever I receive a new set, I use some cheap carburetor cleaner to blast out the metal/oil, then protect with thin oil and store in a sealed military surplus ammo box with silica gel desiccantthey will *never* rust this way. I highly recommend all Lee dies.

I switched to Lee dies in ...

I switched to Lee dies in 1987 and wouldn't use anything else. Every Lee product I've tried has been satisfactory. I load for every weapon I have from small pistol to match rifle and have never had a Lee product fail. Early in my reloading efforts I had an RCBS sizing die for .45 Colt split. I guess pretty really is just skin deep.
