Product Information

These rugged stocks feature a solid side folding design with a locking mechanism for secure carry and shooting. Sturdy steel construction will not flex or deform under stressful conditions, while a simple push button design lets you open or close the stock instantly. The grip features finger grooves for a sure grip in all types of conditions.

The stock is excellent. Had some problems with it when it was received though.It was overmolded inside, meaning it was impossible to fit correctly on my Ruger Ranch Mini-14.Contacted Midway customer service twice via e-mail and did not hear back.Eventually had to file down some of the molding to make it fit the rifle.Works great now. Very solid.

I own a 181 series Mini-14. As previously stated by a couple of other reviewers, the Butler Creek stock required quite a bit of filing to fit the receiver group as well as the trigger group. Also, had to saw off about 1/4" from the front of the stock (where the Forearm Liner & Stock Cap Assembly go). Took some fine grit sandpaper to the over-molding to clean up the look. I'm a novice at machining stuff, so this took me a few hours of work. Once on though, it did fit pretty tight, looks aggressive and the grip feels nice. My original handguard assembly is made of wood, so I also got a John Masen Handguard Assembly to complete the look.

Solid stock, very high ...

Solid stock, very high quality and robust. When it arrived the butt was a little "wobbly", but this was easily fixed by extending the butt, loosening the allen screw in the hinge, and retightening. This process took out all the slack in the hinge and made the stock very solid.

I've had one of these stocks on a Mini-14 for years; it works great. I feel that a few improvements in design could be made, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but overall it is a very robust and user friendly stock. It is not a toy; it's robust enough to use as a serious tool for whatever you need to use the rifle for. The Allen screw securing the spring on the folding stock will vibrate loose though; it needs to be secured with Loctite. Now you know the main reason for the 4 stars. Overall, an excellent stock, handles and shoots great. The rifle bedded well to it, also.

This is an excellent stock for the value. The folding mechanism locks up tight and solid. The plastic material is very high quality and ridged. The fit of the receiver, bedding, and trigger group is very tight, but there is virtually no slop like you would get with an ATI stock. The only downside is the casting flash is a little extreme. Nothing a little scraping won't help. My mini is a 185 series if you're wondering.

Received the stock ordered with the usual quick Midway service.Having previously installed a Butler Creek folding stock on a 10/22 with no problems, this one was not as simple.As with another reviewer, this stock required filing in both the receiver area and at the forearm in order to install the heat shield and receiver group, and adjustments to the folding lockup. This stock replaced another makers stock that took a total of 19 minutes to install. This one took a bit longer.Butler Creek needs to work on the quality control on this product.

This stock fits almost great, it takes a little work to get the Ranch rifle to fit, and a little finesse to get the trigger group back in but once put together makes a great addition to the Mini-14. The Storage Area in the Pistol Grip makes a handy place to store Allen wrenches and lens cloths for those with scopes, or laser sights.

Easiest stock I have ever installed, just dropped the rifle into the stock added the trigger assembly and done. Very well constructed. If you're buying a folder for a mini 14 this is the one.

The folding stock for the mini 14 does exactly what it is supposed to do. Folds to compact size, repels any kind of weather. But it will be a tad bit heavier than the wood stock.
