Super Shock Tip Bullets combine proven Hornady performance with a higher ballistic coefficient than available with most hunting bullets. The sharp, pointed polymer tip creates a faster, flatter shooting bullet. With its one-piece core and jacket strengthened in critical areas, the SST delivers much more controlled expansion and superior weight retention than other tipped bullets. Featuring Hornady's trade mark Interlock ring system, this bullet's core and jacket remain locked solid during expansion, creating massive wound channels. This is not loaded ammunition.

Hornady: It just plain works. I've fired a lot of Hornady's over the years and for better or for worse the Hornady's are simply the best bang for the buck out there. As of today I am absolutely loving this bullet. I use it in my .257 Roberts, loaded with IMR 4350 to a lightly +p level. From my 20" bbl Remington Model 7 this bullet shoots at 2700fps and groups in the sub 1/2" level for two rounds and sub 3/4" for three rounds.Two trips to the range had me dialed in. I just can't argue with that kind of consistency!I'm hunting Texas Whitetail this year and will post back with performance notes on game animals after the season. I suspect that this bullet will be a monster and I have nothing but confidence in Hornady's Interlock design.

Was recently given a Win Mod 70 and all the dies for a 25-06 as well as 100 of these bullets. The previous owner swore by them but the just flat out wont shoot in this gun. They didnt for him either and unlike him I have shallow pockets. It may be the gun or it could just be me. I am use to the 7MM bore so time will tell. Gonna go fishing for a bullet this gun likes though. I do use other Hornady products in other calibers so I am not dejected.

Have used this on several antelope and white tail deer. Results almost the same in every case. The bullet penetrates all the way thru, but very destructive of shoulder blades, etc. Will leave a 2 inch hole thru a shoulder blade, and consequently, not much to eat afterwards.Used in a 26 inch barrell on a 25/06 and loaded fairly stiff.Excellent accuracy.Good bullet, just stay away from the shoulders!

My son shot 2 deer with these bullets. At 75 yards deer dropped in its tracks. At 87 yards deer went about 5 yards. On both deer small entry but had aprox. 2 inch exit. Great experience with these in my sons 25-06.

Have tried a few 117gr bullets in my Custom Mountain Rifle cali 257 Rob imp w/ 21 inch barrel. Took some time to work a load up that could be kept under 3/4 MOA but found one keeping this bullet just under 2850 fps. Took a large body Buck with easy. Bullet exited without any problems taking out one lung completely and destroying the heart. Plus some damage to other lung. This bullet will shoot and works great on Game.

I first used them this year for whitetail in Montana. I was worried they may be too explosive, but they were just right. My partner shot a doe through both hind quarters. Ruined them both but the bullet was still intact just under the offside skin, weighing 34.2 gr (30%). Glanced a shot off the skull from behind another doe. Awesome impact. Dad's K-Bar ensured that she never woke up. Several other does were taken in typical broadside shots. Was satisfied with the size of exit wounds and that the trajectory is no more than +/- 1" out to 225 yds. Will continue to use this load in coming years.

Used this bullet on a Mule Deer last year. Shot him at 330 yards while he was running. He dropped in his tracks. Not sure if this is a plus or minus after reading some of Bergers data about bullets fragmenting, but this bullets jacket and core separated.

I was having trouble finding a bullet that would shoot accurately in my 25 WSSM AR 15 upper. After loading this with W760 powder and moly coating the bullets I proceeded to shoot 4 shots that you could cover with a dime at 100 yards. I was VERY pleased! Now to test them out on some Hogs and Deer. I'll be getting more of theses for sure.

I used this bullet in my 25-06, moa accuracy. Used last hunting season, shot a buck at 60 yards, broke both shoulders, Very dead buck. Pass it completely, very impressive performance.
