With precision ground mating surfaces this stainless steel sear will give the shooter a shorter, faster, cleaner breaking pull. Made from stainless steel in a RC 56-58 hardness, it is the perfect modification when building a competition handgun. Spring is included. Gunsmith fitting is required.

This sear and a Clark hammer pivot pin bushing dropped the trigger pull on my slabside Mk II to approx. 1lb. 11oz. The sear made most of the difference, the bushing just eliminated side-to-side slop in the hammer. It is a huge improvement over the factory trigger pull. Most of the people over on the www forum have reported similar results.

Very nice product. Installed it in my 22/45 Lite. Dropped trigger pull over 1 pound and breaks clean. Have over 2000 rounds through the gun since trigger and sear with no problems.

Stock trigger pull was ...

Stock trigger pull was +/- 5 lb. After replacing the sear, it's at 2-1/2. It took some time, but I got the sear out and back in and the gun still seems to function properly.

NO instructions. Search YouTube for the factory install video. BUT the factory video shows a MK2. I have a 22/45. Which has a different trigger spring. Use the parts diagram in the manual or download it from the Ruger web site. In the 22/45 the loop in the trigger spring fits down into a pocket in the frame. Both ends of the spring point up and fit between the sear and the mag well. The sear should flop toward the back of the pistol. If the sear falls into the mag well you have the spring ends on the wrong side of the sear. ALSO you MUST reuse the stock 22/45 spring.

Out of all the Volquartsen stuff I've installed on my mk3 this made the biggest improvement of them all. Made a nice smooth trigger pull. Again like in my other reviews watch the Volquartsen video makes things much easier if you not to familiar with this gun.

I just installed this in my 22/45 RP and it along with the trigger gave it a very nice pull. The hammer is not needed. Save the money and put the trigger and sear in.

This is the best upgrade you can get for your 22/45 if you are on a budget. I installed it with no issues, just make sure you follow the correct pin removal procedure. I called Volquartsen and they were very eager to help me with any issues I had. The trigger feels completely different. There is no hang up just a smooth pull all the way till it breaks. I will put this sear on my next 22/45 if I get another.

Outstanding product!! If you change one thing only on the Mk II pistol this would be it. This sear will drop the trigger pull by half. Couple this with one of the after-market triggers from Volquartsen or Clark Custom, adjust it carefully for pre-travel and over-travel, and you will have a sweet do-it-yourself trigger job. Your scores will increase noticeably. The Clark Custom oversize hammer bushing is an additional accuracy enhancement.
