Product Information

One look and you know Xtreme Tactical Rings are all about point-of-aim security and durability. The super-strong yet surprisingly lightweight, six-screw aluminum rings anchor scopes in place on any Picatinny rail or Weaver-style base to deliver unfailing return-to-zero. Available in 1" and 30mm sizes, a choice of four ring heights accommodates the installation of any sight from red-dots to large objective target scopes. The 1" height is perfect for all scopes on AR15/M16 flattop receivers, providing proper cheek weld. Designed and built for the rigors of tactical shooting and massive recoil, Xtreme Tactical Rings are not out of place on varmint rifles or big game rifles that may be exposed to the abuses of hard hunting and magnum recoils.

I've installed these ...

I've installed these rings on three of my rifles. Including a .338 Lapua Magnum. They will hold the scope without any movement! I like using aluminum rings as they are less likely to damage the scope tube, and because they are lighter. They feature some nice touches such as hex nuts on the tightening studs that will not fall off if loosened. The large gripping surface of these rings also distribute the load over a larger area. If I had to find a fault with them, I would say that it can be tricky to get the torque even when you tighten all six screws on the upper ring halves. A terrific deal for the money!

Average ring, fair for ...

Average ring, fair for the price. They look decent until you look close. The big mounting nuts are not square to the clamping surface. Ran an alignment/lapping bar across them and they are not concentric or round. They're aluminum so probably won't hurt a good quality scope tube. I don't like the round cross pins with the flat shoulder on them either. For a little more money you could get a set of TPS rings or for moderately more money some Seekins Precision and have a much better ring. These are better than the $15 "tactical" rings out there but are far from the best. I don't expect them to compare to the USO, Badger, Nightforce or even IOR rings but the clamping surfaces should at least be flat and square, including the base of the mounting nuts.

This set is on a custom 700 Remington. I have several sets on other rifles. Have never had a slippage or alignment problem with them. Easy to install and rock solid. Take the scope off and put it back on with very little variation in bullet impact (1/16"@100yards) at the most.

Very disappointed in the fit and finish of rings, shouldn't have to do so much lapping on rings of this price. Im quessing that the "made in china" sticker has something to do with the quality, Very Disappointing!! I own 2 Burris Black Diamond scopes that are very good but after seeing made in china on the side of these rings this will be the last product i buy from Burris.

All I can say is wow. I sighted my ar-10 at 100 yards and was dead on with only adjusting my windage 2 clicks (I did how ever have a bit of a cross wind) I will never use another set of rings again, but keep in mind they are a bit bigger from front to back this could possibly cause a problem in some applications but I think they do offer ones with 4 screws instead of the 6 in each one like the extreme tactical is designed with, just buy them you wont regret it

These rings work. I have a NightForce 5.5X22X56mm scope mounted on a Savage 12 FTR .308.This is a 14 lb gun by its self. It is used strictly to shoot in the FTR class competition, so weight is not an issue. The scope is heavy and moved around in TPS rings. Bought these due to price and reviews. Mounted them up and my slippage problems went with the TPS rings. Have shot better than 1500 hot 175 grn rounds and no movement has been noted. Each time I attend a match, I shoot a sighter round and find the scope is right where it should be for zero. I will order a second set for my new rifle build. They are well worth the money. No lapping was required.

Good rings for a good price, I could have used a "low" ring to mount this on my Remington 700 LTR, but it would have been close. Plenty of space to use a 20 degree base if you want I think.

Good solid rings. The extra width and 6 screws are great for securing heavy tactical-style scopes. I haven't tried the Badger rings (which I'm sure are excellent), but after using these I can't see spending the extra money. Highly recommended.

I've been using a set of these rings since they first hit the market. While they were an absolute steal back then, they are still very good for the price. In fact, I originally bought them to go on a tactical 308 when I was low on cash. Through the years I've gotten better in the cash flow area, but I've kept the XTR rings on the rifle. The rifle is now on its third stock, third scope, second base, and several other second parts, but I've liked the XTR rings enough to leave them in place throughout all the other changes over the years. I can't think of a better endorsement than keeping them in place while everything around them has been upgraded over and over again.

Mounted a Hawke Sidewinder w/42mm objective. Plenty of clearance between the barrel and objective, probably .5" and just enough room on the ocular bell to keep from hitting it while operating the bolt. They are very well finished and extremely rigid rings. Will definitely buy again.

Wow, what a value! These are great rings. Very beefy and well made. Aimpoint users be aware that this ring will work but it is real tight beacause of the battery cap. For the money, nothing touches these rings.
