These are nice slot blanks, polished and smooth with a nice blue. They are the ones to get if you want to match the blued steel of your barrel. They blend better than aluminum...Read complete review

These are nice slot blanks, polished and smooth with a nice blue. They are the ones to get if you want to match the blued steel of your barrel. They blend better than aluminum, in my opinion, though functionally they accomplish the same thing. Marble's slot blanks are easily fitted to the barrel.

My brass punch flattened ...

My brass punch flattened it while driving it into the slot. I ordered 3 of these and ALL were visibly different from each other. Sure wish Redfield would give them some competition again. I have an ancient marbles blank on another gun, never had this problem with it. Made back when, by folks who cared when they put their name on junk. Extremely poor quality.

This is an excellent slot blank. The finish is outstanding. The blank narrowest dimension end is marked on the bottom of the blank. This blank is sized right were a snug fit is easily achieved without needing to file the blank or beat the snot out of the blank to fit.

This slot blank WAS to be installed on my mdl 94, I understand this is not a drop-in part. The amount of metal that had to be removed was excessive. The fit in relation to the bbl. was very poor. Maybe it would fit another rifle, I just tossed it.

Upon expending (2) bx's of shells trying to sight in my 30/30 (model 64) after having a marble tang sight installed and reading other reviews about installing the marble rear sight blank, I ordered two.Today I installed one and am tickled pink.Took 7 shots to sight in at 50/100 yd's, with a 2.5 in grouping.

Great product. Worked great on a new Savage Mark II. Fit front sight dovetail perfectly. Had to do a little filing to fit the front sight dovetail, but produced a nice tight fit. I plan on purchasing on for a Winchester 94 rear sight which is getting a Lyman peep sight.

I just put these on 2 of my rifles, a Winchester 1885 high wall and a Uberti 1873 lever. They look great and the finish matches nicely . They were much too tight as they came, but by holding a triangular file firmly and sliding the blank across the file, I was able to take a little off the inside of each dovetail groove until I could push the blank into the slot halfway, then I used a brass punch to tap it the rest of the way in. I'm very happy with the results.

I used one of these on my Marlin 1894 in .44 Magnum, and it fit exactly correct. I simply tapped it into place and it looked perfect. These really protect the rear dovetail from any damage, and look great doing it. No gun should be left with an open dovetail when these are available at such a low cost to remedy the problem of an open, empty sight cutout.
