I use mine for varmint hunting in calling stand situations. It is very lightweight and maneuverable. A big plus over an attached bi-pod is that it can be dropped off in an instant in quick shooting circumstances. The only real downfall is that sometimes the pointed legs go right through the ground surface cover lowering the height.

Great sticks but if you are going out west tall grass will be a problem. I wish they were 6" higher

I have 4 or 5 different types of bipods, but THIS is what I grab every time I'm heading out for hunting. Whether for coyotes or elk, these Shootin' Stix are ideal: lightweight, steady, quick, and handy. I do own the Safari Stix too... for when standing shots are called for, but these shorter ones work 90% of the time just fine. LOVE THEM.

I like this product for all the reasons previously listed. The downside is that the belt pouch is a little loose and every year I lose a pair. I have lost three. But, it dawned on me that the elastic cord that wraps around the folded up PoleCat can be wrapped around the belt pouch as well. Hopefully I am done losing them now. Remember to wrap your elastic around the belt pouch!

This has been used by my son and myself (we fight over it)he will get one for x-mas this year. It works well for blackpowder shooting, while sitting or kneeling I have used it with my Steyer rifle (25-06) with great results. Very steady and will double as a walking stick at the end of the day. as others have pointed out it can sink deeply into too soft of soil/sand. The main reason I like it over the Harris bi-pod is it does not add any weight to the rifle and is just as convient to use.

I have taken two Elk using my steady sticks, lost them after the second one, and will definitely be replacing them. They are also great as a rest when glassing! Would make a great gift for any hunter, much more versatile than conventional bi-pods.

Excellent rest for varmit shooting. Prefer it over other types. Is durable, light weight and easy to use. Would like to see broader tips for use in soft ground but is not a drawback for most applications. Well worth the money.

These are great and will certainly improve your accuracy while in the field. I could't have made the shot on the deer that I got last weekend without them. 3 important things; 1) in soft ground the bottom legs will get stuck and you will have to grasp the bottom to remove it 2) practice removing them from the sheath because they can get hung up easily if you pull outward 3) have them out and ready most of the time
