The Lee Chamfer and Deburring Tool is an ideal too to use after trimming cases to remove the burrs that are created which must be removed prior to loading. Made of hardened steel the unique design cuts fast without chatter. One turn does the job. Chamfers and deburrs inside and outside necks of cases. Can also be used to remove the crimp from primer pockets of military crimped brass.

They do tend to wear out after hard use (I am a small commercial reloader), but you can have a pocketful of these for what the others charge for one. Also, when removing primer pocket crimps with the tool in the lathe, the Lee is not nearly as prone to overcut and turn your primer pocket into a funnel.

This tool is ok for deburring the inside of cases, but it is so short it becomes painful to hold onto after a few hundred rounds. Also, it will not deburr short pistol calibers on the outside of the case, because it is deeper than the length of the cases.

I currently use this tool and am not very impressed with it. It seems to chamfer ok but the deburr is horrible... Plus it leaves lines on the cases where the bottom of the tool kinda scribes the brass. If you purchase this tool, only use it to chamfer, otherwise get the L.E. Wilson tool that has superb reviews!

The Chamfer this proves ...

The Chamfer this proves is pretty good. As for the debur, the larger pistol brass like .44 and above or rifle brass over 30-30 this can get the job accomplished. I only wish Lee made it a bit shorter so I can deburr smaller pistol brass like 9mm/40 cal or smaller rifle brass like .223 accordingly.

This thing works well, but only if you have the case moving under power in a tool. I use the inexpensive adapter for a battery drill. Trying to use this by hand is tedious, to say the least, and aggravating to be more accurate. Under power, it cuts, whereas by hand it abrades more than anything. I give it five stars because it works very well with a power tool and is inexpensive. I've done thousands of cases with it, and if it's any duller now than it was after the first fifty cases, I can't tell. To get a consistent, even outside cut, index one finger on the case while it turns, with the other fingers holding the tool level. Works fine. For the inside chamfer the tool pretty much aligns itself as the case is turning, unless you're way off on the angle. Don't use the Zip-trim, it's too tedious. Buy that $4 adapter for the drill, you'll be glad you did. I do both inside and outside one after the other, but if you do all outside, the all inside you can put this cutter in a nut driver bit also in the drill, but then you have to handle each case more than once.

Complete waste of time and money! The debur side does a horrible job and take excessive work to get the job correct the first time. The chamfer side chews up the mouth of every case I put it in. I will never purchase a Lee product again! You get what you pay for and this is a perfect example! I DO NOT recommend!

Product is priced about $3.50 too high...absolutely worthless. It will clean the inside of the case mouth, but not the outside. Also scores the outside of the case...with a slight modification might be able to sharpen the grand kids crayons with it.

As my first chamfer/debur tool, it's not terribly bad. The two biggest problems I had with it is the difficulty deburring pistol cartridges due to the long tool neck and the inconsistently cut edges requiring multiple turns and checks to make sure the brass chamfer is equal. Does the job for the price.

This was my first chamfer and deburring tool when I started reloading. It is cheap (and cheaply made) and it is a pain to work with. If all you are doing are 5-6 cases, it would be a great, inexpensive tool to have. But, if you are like me and reload 100 cases at a time (or more, if time permits), then it is not worth your consideration. The tool is small, hard to hold, has only two meager cutting surfaces. It takes MANY turns to remove a military crimp from your brass and leaves behind a very rough cut and shards of brass all over. Yuck! It chafes the skin and strains your hand extensively. You are better off buying just about any other design. Conclusion: for 10 cases or less, get this toy and use it because it is cheap and your extra muscular effort will go unnoticed. However, if you process many cases, avoid it. Your hand will be sore for days, it will take massive amounts of effort to reach your intended result and you will be sick and tired of caring for your brass to the detriment of your load's performance.

I have an old one of ...

I have an old one of these that worked great for years. This new one does okay for the inside but barely cuts at all on the outside of my LC 308 cases. Seriously thinking of spending 20 bucks on a different tool.
