I installed this V block ...

I installed this V block along with a PWS .920 barrel. The block is thicker than the stock Ruger retainer and actually floated the barrel in the Boyds stock I tossed everything into. I didn't have any sag to begin with as the barrel was a tight fit into the reciever. Once at the range I was grouping three shots at 50 yards in dime sized shot patterns. Overall, I like the retainer and think it is an improvement over stock.

Just received this item ...

Just received this item today and installed. No problems what so ever during the process. The block is clearly marked on its face where the screw shoulders are with an arrow and the word TOP. Pretty much self explanatory. I didn't encounter the tightness while installing as another reviewer did, but maybe I just already have a pretty tight barrel to receiver fit and so I didn't encounter this problem. I did notice that with the factory part there was definitely a gap between the barrel and the top of the V-block. After the new one went on there is little to no gap at all now. My gun is the 10/22 tactical model with the heavy spiral barrel and hogue stock.

This product can be a ...

This product can be a tight fit with a .920 barrel (mine is the tactical solutions one). I wasn't sure if I was installing it correctly because it was so tough to get on, so I called Tactical Solutions customer service. They confirmed that the thicker end goes "up" against the barrel, and on some rugers it will give you some fight! They also said don't worry about stripped screws, once the head of the retainer screw pops in you're golden. The resistance is coming from the v-block lifting the barrel. All in all, good product, can't wait to take it to the range! -1 star for lack of instructs, wish it could be .5 because half of it was user ignorance.

Installed V-Block today ...

Installed V-Block today on my Ruger 10/22. The new V-Block changed my point of impact plus 1/4 inch at 50 yards. I was hoping for more but with the addition of Midways elevated (20 MOA) scope mount I think my new scope will have all the adjustment it needs. Keep in mind the more barrel droop and play your 10/22 barrel has the better this block should work.

Bought this for my Ruger ...

Bought this for my Ruger 10/22 T. No directions, seems simple but couldn't figure out if I put it on right side up? Seems to be holding just fine. Raised the barrel which was important on those huge hammer forged barrels that The 10/22 T's have. Barrel sag is a huge problem. I would but this again. Great finish well built

It does what it's ...

It does what it's supposed to do. I have a Target 10/22, and it would not zero at 100 yards. With elevation at its max up position, POI was still 2.5 feet low. After I traded the stock V block for this one, the POI was spot on at max elevation. Doesn't completely solve the problem, but obviously helps. I think I will just shim the back ring a little bit, and I should be good.

I must say that I did not ...

I must say that I did not think much of preloading a barrel until I started shooting in a stock barrel NRA class. I've always used stuff like VQ barrels or Kidd barrels that you need to hammer into place. This thing works. It preloaded the barrel so well that it now is floating. The groups I shoot with a stock barrel are cut in half. Not sure how it works but it is effective. It must take all of the shift out of the stock barrel and receiver. I bet it is great for Carbon and aluminum barrels that fit looser than my Walther match blanks that I use in my mod guns. Good product.
