Even though they were recommended for use in a Rifled Choke, they Key holed at 50 yds from my 18.5" 870 with an Extended Rifled Remchoke. I imagine these would be amazing with a Rifled Barrel though.

I tried several different sabot slugs in my 870 with a rifled barrel, and these were by far the most accurate. They averaged about 1.5 inch at 50 yards. The only thing I have shot with it so far is a feral hog at about 75 yards. The slug entered at the front left shoulder and traveled diagonally across and exited the right hindquarter. The exit point was a quite impressive 3" ragged hole. Needless to say, the pig fell in his tracks and was quite dead. I am very pleased with these and plan to use them exclusively in the future.

I use the 3" with my ...

I use the 3" with my Benelli Nova Pump with a rifled barrel. They work great and drop pigs. I have also taken several coyotes, one at 104 yards and one at 133 yards, no hold over just aimed for center of mass. Obviously accuracy is very good in my experience.

Here in Ohio for our gun ...

Here in Ohio for our gun week we use shotguns that have come a long way since I was a child shooting my Fathers Mossburg with a "Pumpkin Ball" 1oz. lead ball. Now we have high tech ammo and weapons that will do a great job of dropping deer. I started using Remington's Copper solid Sabot about 8 yrs. ago. Starting out with the 3" Mag. was okay but not what I was expecting from 100 yds. Plus after firing this sabot a few times you can count on your shoulder feeling like hamburger. However the 2 3/4 Sabot is VERY accurate at 100 yds. With tight patterns. Myself I have been using a Mossberg 500 Slugster with a Simmons Pro Diamond Scope! This is for me a deadly combo for deer. Now my family and a few friends have the same weapon combo and shoot the Remington 2 3/4 Sabot. Im speaking for all of us that hunt our property, We feel very confident shooting deer here at 100+ yds. anyday! I can remember 3 years ago a Buck was heading my way, I was aiming up hill and the only shot I had was a chest on shot since he was running a path to a creek bottom where I was. I put the cross hairs on him at about 85yds. and squeezed off a round. When the round hit this deer it actually lifted the whole deer up off the ground and knocked him about 4 feet back according to the marks he left when he was hit. I dropped my weapon asking myself, Did I just see what I thought I seen. VERY IMPRESSED! As some of you know we have pretty good sized deer here in Ohio so,,,,, My hat is off to Remington for the production of such a top of the line Sabot round. Thanks Remington and keep up the good work!

Superb Slug round. Out of ...

Superb Slug round. Out of a fully rifled barrel w/ scope on a 12 gauge Remington Express I've taken deer out to 175 yards and will not hesitate on a 200 yd shot. At the range a 5 shot group at 300 yards was inside a 12 inch circle. A lot of drop but still in the kill zone. Other slug types I tried were all over the 6' by 6' target and making keyholes. The copper solid was still making nice round half inch holes. Only slug round I'll shoot.

I have used this slug in ...

I have used this slug in an 11-87 with camo cantilever barrel for the past 2 seasons. It groups 2.25" at 100 yds. It does massive damage and has never failed to exit out to 127 yds. It is the new style with 6 petals that don't tear off. The old 4 petal design did. I tested with a 4x scope both years. Sights were still dead on after disassembly, cleaning and reassembly. 3 1 shot kills out to 127 yds. I can't ask for more!

I have shot 2 deer at 175 ...

I have shot 2 deer at 175 yards through the lungs and 2 more at 100-125 yards. My only complaint is that I can no longer blame my missing on the bullets. I have a Mossberg bolt action with full rifled barrel and 4x scope. I tried several bullets when I bought gun these had a very good pattern at 150 yards. Love em.

Just an FYI. This is the slug used by the US Coast Guard and Customs Border Protection to shoot boat engines. Forget these hunters and their 30yd pig kills on steady land. Try shooting an 870 on a rolling ocean! Slices through engine blocks like a hot knife through butter. Goes clear through the engine block! Pistons and all! BEST SLUG YOU CAN BUY!

I've been using the ...

I've been using the Copper-Solids for four years or more, with my Mossberg 835, rifled barrel. Taken at least five deer over the years with this combination; all rounds passed through the deer and dropped them where they stood. 2" groups at 100 yards; longest shot so far = 114 yards with dead-on accuracy to aim point (zero was 100 yards).
