The Vortex flash hider uses a patented 15 degree, right hand helical flute design to eliminate muzzle flash. Used by US armed forces worldwide as well as US Dept of Homeland Security and law enforcement across the nation. Machined from ordnance grade 8620 steel and finished with a mil-spec phospate. Designed not to loosen under sustained fire.

Designed specifically for the Kalashnikov family of firearms, the AKM Vortex will fit any AK-type rifle with the standard M14x1.0 LH thread pattern, in calibers 5.45x39mm, 5.56x45mm and 7.62x39mm. The self tightening design doesn't require the use of the standard AK front sight housing detent, and may require the removal of this part for installation. Compatible with Smith Enterprise's quick disconnect AK-DC sound suppressor.
