Product Information

The Tipped TSX features a 100-percent copper body with rings cut into the shank. A polymer tip boosts the ballistic coefficient, improves long-range ballistics and provides fast expansion. The four razor sharp cutting petals double the bullet diameter making delivering "dead right there" performance.

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

I loaded these Barnes 30 cal. 130 gr. TTSX bullets in my 300 RUM. Shot great with an avg. speed of 3750, very flat out to 400 yds. Deer were taken with these loads out to 550 yards dropping them instantly with bullet performance as promised. All animals dropped on the spot with shot placement just behind the shoulder, with no to very little bloodshot damage where bullet entered the animals. This is a perfect all around bullet.

When I got my a'bolt in 300 wsm I couldn't wait to try the 130s. I used superformance powder, since it worked so well with the 150s... half in. 100 yd groups. Well to my surprise, they shot 3 to 5 in patterns. They were loaded to over 3600 fps. Maybe thats why federal discontinued them...

Super accurate bullet. Previously used in my Rem 700 SPS 308 Win..3/4 MOA. Loaded them for my new 300 AAC in my 16" AR-Stoner barrel from Midway..5 shot group covered by a quarter at 100 yds using H110 @ 2.050 (load from Hodgdon Reloading magazine 2012). Will be ready for deer season.

I have loaded these with 46 grains of Varget. I'm shooting 3/4 inch groups at 100 yds from a Bushy LR 308 w/16" barrel. Love em. I haven't had a chance to check them on a chrono yet. But sub MOA from my LR 308 I really don't care if they are cruzing at 2900 or 2800 FPS. Loading at OAL 2790.

These are great bullets. I loaded them up with 50 grains of Varget in a Model 7 .308 and shot one hole groups at 100 yards. I shot a doe in the chest at 80 yards and the bullet exited the rear ham with a 2" hole. My daughter shot a deer quartering toward her and the bullet broke the front right shoulder and exited around the seventh rib.....the deer went 20 yards or so and piled up. Great bullet.

I loaded these at 3300fps in my browning BAR chambered in 300 win mag, with some work i got them to group at 1" at 100yds, pretty good since factory rem and win ammo patterns at about 2"-3" out of this gun. Shot a doe bullet entered between the shoulder blades exited thru the brisket, bullet kept a straight line of travel even after going thru the spine. In the past I would shoot 180 grn corelokts and they would just blow up if you hit something as hard as spine. So not bad for a bullet weighing 50grns less. I also shot a buck with this load, he had his head down bullet entered halfway up his neck exited behind the shoulder, straight line of travel again, even after punching thru the neck. And this was a 30yd shot so its amazing that this bullet held together going that fast hitting spine at point blank. If u want something that keeps going straight and doesn't blow up then these will be good for you.

I can't say enough about this Bullet. I downloaded some Youth load data off Hodgdon for youth loads. One of the loads said it had less recoil than a .243. This bullets was the bullet they suggested so I gave it a try. All I can say is wow!! We went to the range two weeks before hunting season with my son's new marlin youth bolt action .308. He fell in love after the first shot. I sighted it in and it was holding 1 MOA shot after shot and still enough velocity to expand the Barnes bullets. Yesterday I took my son for his first hunt. 6:40 three does walked out and he shot one. Dropped on the spot. He shot another. Dropped on the spot. The third one ran 20 feet and stopped so he shot that one too. It ran 20 yards and dropped. All were perfect lung shots. Tonight I took my wife for the first time and 3 more does came out at 6:15. We only had one more doe tag so I let her shoot. She thought she missed cause it didnt flinch when she shot. It ran off. Within 30 seconds I heard it fall in the woods. We got out of the stand and walked over and blood was everywhere. We walked in the woods 20 yards and there she was. Perfect lung shot. The exit wound on all were about 3/4" hole. You should def buy this bullet.

Loaded these for my Browning A Bolt 300 WSM using Varget. At 100 yards a three shot group is under 1/2 moa with all three bullet holes overlapping. This same rifle shot 2 inch groups with Factory Winchester Ballistic Silvertips so the Barnes were a huge improvement. I am looking forward to using it as my whitetail round in southern IA.

My Howa Varminter Supreme .308 Win. with stainless steel 24" barrel 1:12 twist put the Barnes poly tipped TSX 130 grain bullets into a 5-shot .465" center to center group at 100 yards using Ramshot TAC (not a maximum load per Barnes' reloading manual vol. 4), CCI 200, Lake City full-length sized brass, COAL 2.810" (per Barnes' manual). Barnes doesn't publish separate load data for the tipped TSX but on its website recommends using TSX load data for comparable weight bullets. I haven't chronned this load yet but believe it's traveling at approximately 3,000 fps mv. Great bullet.
