After looking at many photos of the various aftermarket grip options for my MK II, I decided that these grips would probably suit me best. As it turns out, they fit my hand exactly as I thought they would. I love how the swell in the right side panel fills my palm and how the thumb rest in the left panel allows my thumb to be at the correct angle (unlike the factory Ruger Competition model grips). The extra little bump on the right panel puts my index finger exactly where I like it to be on the trigger. The ergonomics of these grips are well thought out and work nicely for both a one handed or two handed hold. My hands are medium sized, but with slender, long fingers. I think that people with either small/slim or large/chunky hands would also probably find these grips quite comfortable. There is something very universal and classy in the design. I do agree with a previous reviewer that these grips make one handed operation of the bolt release lever more difficult. This is easily fixed with minor modification to the grip and/or the addition of an extended bolt release. Easier still, you could just use your other thumb on the lever. The fit and finish are perfect and the checkering is nice and sharp. The wood grain on my pair is beautiful! The bottom line is that I could not be more satisfied with these grips (and I rarely write glowing reviews of anything). These are the grips that the Ruger Competition model should be leaving the factory with, period.

Right side panel severely ...

Right side panel severely warped leaving 1/8 inch gap to frame, will need to sand surface level for proper fit. Left side panel inside surface relief cuts do not match mag release nor slide stop pivot bolt, significant fitting will be required. I did not expect to purchase a "kit" requiring this much fitting work.

These grips are nice if ...

These grips are nice if you want a thumb rest grip, they look sharp and are comfortable. I put them on a MK III and they didn't work so well with my medium size hands. I had to dremel out the slot for the slide stop and it still is hard to operate with my right hand. The mag release is impossible to operate right handed, it's recessed too far, you have to rotate the gun to get to it and to dremel that out would require too much modification to the grip. No problem if you had them on a Mk II. Doll them up with the hex head grip screws, the screws will work with the new grips or the originals. I ended up putting the old grips back on but if you're okay with 2 handed operation you'll like them on your Mk III.

Installed these grips on my Ruger Mark III Hunter in minutes with no adjustments or triming. They feal and handle better then the factory cocobolo grips the gun came with, which I installed on another cheaper Mark III . If you shoot mostly with both hands you will like them because they are a fatter grip.

These grips are very well made and look good on my blued Mark II. They provide a very firm feel on the grip and are quite comfortable. The only issue I had was the relief cut for the slide release was not large enough to provide "one thumb" access to the lever. Two minutes and a dremel tool and the grips are now exactly what I wanted.
