The RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center helps to make the tedious tasks of chamfering, deburring, primer pocket cleaning, military crimp removal and flash hole deburring quick and effortless. The five gear driven heads turn each tool so all the reloader has to do is hold the brass at the appropriate location until they are satisfied with the results. These accessories make the RCBS Trim Mate Case Prep Center a more versatile machine to meet many case prep requirements. Primer pocket uniformers are designed to ensure that primer pockets are cut to the correct SAAMI depth specifications, cleaning out built up carbon residue from previous firings and squaring the bottom of the primer pocket with respect to the case head. This step is important as variations in the seating depth of the primer can change how the firing pin strikes the primer producing inconsistent ignition.

Far better than the Redding

I purchased the Redding primer pocket uniformer first. The Redding seems to be made from high speed tool steel, but the reliefs aren't big enough, it was taking about 20-30 seconds to get some brass uniformed. The same brass takes about 5 seconds with the RCBS tool! Most cases take just a second or two now. It's got bigger reliefs for more aggressive cutting and is carbide for longer life. I'm using this in my Lyman prep center, it works much, much better than the first uniformer I bought!

I need this tool as I use the "Blue" brand Military crimp swagger and with .223 it sometimes displaces material into the primer pocket. This cuts the pocket back to the right depth, the down side is it does not have a long enough channel to allow the brass shavings to fall out and away if you use it in the RCBS Prep Center or any other power center that holds the vutter in a vertical orientation. If you use in in a drill or horizontally it works much better.

This item far out-performs the Lyman Pocket Reamer that I had been using. The Lyman is ok, but the RCBS Uniformer is that much better. it cuts and chamfers the pocket in my surplus LC brass.

Before, I would have to wiggle the case to align the primer to the pocket before seating. Now, no extra work and primers self-guide.

I checked some of the brass the Lyman tool was used on and the RCBS tool still had material to remove. the tool will also square the base of the rim to a small degree.

I purchased my uniformer locally because I was impatient. If you're starting to reload surplus military brass, this is a GOTTA HAVE tool in your reloader's toy box.

Makes seating primers easy, easy to use. Great addition to power trimmers. Does make a bit of a chore doing mass quantities, but such is life, its still easier than trying to do it by hand.

A great addition to the trim mate prep centers. Nearly effortlessly creates perfectly uniform primer pockets. You can definately feel the difference when seating primers after using this tool.
