I have shot/reloaded this ...

I have shot/reloaded this bullet for many years. I believe Sierras are the most accurate bullet out there. I say that after shooting Noslers, Hornady, and Swift. You can't beat Sierra accuracy. I shoot ragged hole groups with my stock Remington ADL. On the down side, these bullets will fragment like you wouldn't believe inside 100 or 125 yds. Your deer will be dead on the spot, but you will have significant meat damage if you are a shoulder shooter. Since I am a neck and head shooter out to 200 yds, I care about the accuracy and don't worry about the meat. Farther distances you don't have to worry about them coming apart as much. This bullet is extremely easy to load and not finicky. If they were tougher and held together better, they would be perfect.

Complete Jacket ...

Complete Jacket Separation on Mule Deer @ 187 yards. Loaded out to 3100 FPS. Recovered from dead deer jacket less some petals and core. While animal was climbing away across a canyon, was hit @ intersection of front shoulders where join the neck. Core pushed 1 3/4 between vertebrae before come to a rest. Jacket parts found in the 1st inch of penetration. Accurate but would not purchase again.

Usually I use these for elk hunting.CCI LR primer with 56gr. H4831. With Win. Brass. Make consistant groups less than 1 in. at 100 yds. 130 gr. sbt sierra Game Kings. Always have excellent service from Midway. Thanks Larry for the birthday E-mail.

Excellent on whitetails

I load these for a friend of mines .270 Winchester. He gets excellent accuracy and excellent results on whitetail here in Minnesota. He shot a 6 point buck at 225yds last year with this bullet, complete pass through with quarter size exit wound. This year he shot a nice doe at 275yds. One shot broadside, deer dropped in its tracks. Same excellent performance, complete pass through and excellent exit wound.

I am a huge fan of Sierra brand bullets; they are very accurate and most reliable on game. I have taken many head of game with various calibers using Sierra bullets. Yes, I have tried and use other brands on occasion; while very good, none regularly achieve the consistent accuracy I demand. For example, in October 2011, I used the Sierra 130gr SBT GameKing on a Wyoming antelope hunt east of Buffalo, WY near the Powder River on a self-guided hunt. I was using my Ruger No.1 KBBZ stainless steel single shot rifle (26-inch barrel) in 270 Winchester with a Bushnell 4200 Elite 6 X 24 power scope to harvest my speed goat. The rifle also wears a LimbSaver harmonic barrel dampener located 2.5-inches from the muzzle. With this rifle/scope combination and carefully developed handloads using IMR 4831, with bullet seated at 0.002-inch from the lands, I regularly shoot 0.25 inch groups at 200 yardsyes 200 yards, pretty good for an out-of-the-box rifle. Outstanding accuracy from a plain vanilla hunting bullet I would say. Back to the hunt, the antelope was at a distance of 254 yards (Bushnell laser) an easy shot for this set-up. The antelope was quartering away and slightly downhill. I aligned my vertical crosshair on the off-side leg to achieve proper bullet placement on and through the vitals. I made the shot from the prone position. The bullet entered through the ribs, totally destroyed the vitals, severely damaged the off-shoulder, and subsequently exited. The antelope dropped in its tracks and did not even take one step. My advice is to take the guesswork out of your next hunt and use Sierra GameKing bullets.

I just turned 64 yrs old... I started hunting with the 130gr. Sierra GameKing --- then just BTS in about in 1969 or 70'... I've taken at least one Mule Deer every year since then, I've also taken several head of Elk with the same bullet... The load is a nearly max load of H4831... It's funny but I came to the same conclusion about the load indipendently of that other guy.... Animals were taken from 50 to over 700 yards, I never had an animal walk away.... Pay more, not me... This bullet is it....

I've used this bullet to shoot at least 14 deer, Whitetails, Mule deer and Blacktails. Almost all shots had an exit hole about the size of a quarter. In my Model 70, 270 Win, I use RL22 and get excellent accuracy, 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards. I tried every fancy, so called premium bullets you can buy and didn't get anywhere near the accuracy that I get from these bullets. If it's accuracy you want and a bullet that will perform , Sierra GK is your bullet.

I shoot these out of my 270WSM and they are devastating on deer. I love the accuracy. I shoot nothing but Sierra's in my rifles (30-06, 270WSM, 7MM Rem Mag). I shot a doe one year, the bullet entered her hind quarters, turned 180 and went through and lodged in her neck. I still have the bullet. It retained 85 of it's orig weight. They work and the deer don't know the difference.

For years I wouldn't load anything but Nosler Partition 130 grain for my .270 Win. But a couple of years ago I tried these Sierras, and lo and behold - I put 3 in 2 holes at 100 yards off a rest! I've found them to be accurate, reliable, and just right for mule deer. And at roughly half the price, I can shoot the same bullet for varmints that I use on Opening Day. What's not to love?

Used this bullet on mule deer it expands quickly and will open up the vital area. I have shot three deer with this bullet and there have not been any exit wounds. In 2 cases the deer dropped immediately and the third ran about 10 yards. I have also shot this bullet out to 1,000 yards with great accuracy.
