Product Information

Versa Pod Bipods feature solid aircraft-grade aluminum construction and come standard with a Universal Mounting Adapter, which mounts to any Q.D. (Quick Detach) sling swivel stud. The Model 1 and 2 Bipods are designed for general-purpose prone use as well as shooting from a bench. Both bipods adjust the barrel from 9" to 12" in 6 increments. Model 1 bipod features "V" grooved metal feet.

I got one of these about ...

I got one of these about 3 weeks ago. I love the bipod but was very disapointed in the mount. the bolt on the mounting block is too long. you can't tighten up the locking nut enough to snug the handrest to the forearm of the rifle. I tried it on two rifles and had this problem with both. I had to use a washer between the locking nut and the handrest to take out all the play.what really disapointed me was that I have had no response to the 2 emails I sent to Versa-pod about this problem. I gave them 2 weeks to respond before writing this review. I will try to call them about it. If I get no help I will return this one and buy a Harris.

I like this bipod very ...

I like this bipod very well. I like the fact, you can quickly/easily, detach the legs from the mount(for storage)or to change/install a different set of legs. I like the ability of the pitch/yaw feature's of this bipod, for adjusting my crosshair's level on my target. I do a lot of prone shooting on coyote's. I also like the fact you can quickly change, to a differnt set of legs if needed. The only 2-draw-backs, are the upper part is made of cast-iron(susceptible to cracking). Also, I wish the legs locked tighter in the ball-socket, where the legs swing down, when in the deployed(down) position.

The star rating really ...

The star rating really should be between 3 and 4 stars, I think. After using it for a while, I do like the bipod, but like most bipods it could be improved. I think it is a pretty good value for the money though. It's very similar to the Accuracy International bipod I have for my AI stock, except that the Versa-Pod's legs don't extend under spring pressure (there are no springs), and the mounting post for the Versa-Pod is on the rifle- the AI bipod has it mounted on the bipod, so there isn't anything hanging out to catch on clothing, etc. when the bipod is not attached. I prefer the AI setup in these two regards, though it's much more expensive, and is made specifically for Accuracy International's own stocks. If I had to purchase the bipod again, I might look at the Harris bipods. I believe they make one with tilt and swing.

For the price the ...

For the price the Versa-pod works great for my needs. Very similar to the Parker-Hale bipod but at a fraction of the cost.I own three right now none of have failed yet.
