Product Information

Several well-known and trusted components are used in the production of this ammunition. For starters, Silver State uses Lake City brass in this ammunition. Often used by the United States military, this heavy duty brass helps to maintain smooth chambering. This ammunition is loaded with hard Military Spec Primers designed for use in military style rifles. It may misfire in some single shot break-open firearms.

Next comes the Barnes Triple-Shock X Bullet. These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. When the bullet expands, four razor-sharp cutting petals are created, allowing the bullet to penetrate farther through tough bone and tissue. These bullets usually retain 100% of their original weight, making them a superb choice for hunting.

This is my go to ammo for hog hunting with my PSA 6.8 spc. All SSA ammo seems to shot the same..., very accurate and consistent. Drops the hogs were they are standing!

I purchased this ammo to use in my M4 Bushmaster with 1/10 twist. It shoots under 1" groups at 100 yards. I have an Eotech on top and use it for deer hunting in thick woods. I double tapped a nice deer this year at 75 yards and they went clean thru even breaking the opposite shoulder bone up before exiting. This is a good round for hunting or self defense.

I tried SSAs 110 gr TSX, 110 gr ProHunter, and 110 gr Accubond rounds in my new YHM Upper. Zero was established at 50 yards and shot groups were compared between 50 and 100 yards. At 50 yards all 3 rounds shot groups at or under 1 inch. At 100 yards, point of impact dropped 2 inches with the TSX rounds and opened up wildly. I will not use this round in my upper again. Im not saying this is bad ammunition; my upper just didnt like it. I actually prefer the TSX bullet over the other 2 for PIG hunting, but they will all work. The ProHunter rounds climbed 3 inches and the shot group stayed at 1 inch. The Accubond rounds kept the same point of impact and the shot group stayed under 1 inch. I was very pleased with the Accubond rounds and I will be buying more.

I shot a 240lb boar at about 100yds and dropped it on the spot. The bullet severed the spine and was recovered on the off side. Not bad for a small cartridge like the 6.8 SPC. Groups from my 16" RRA carbine are about 1" or better.

I chronographed my lot at 2560 fps with a Surefire suppressor. zero at 200 and went to work. I have killed over 30 wild hogs with this load and it works well. The bullet stays together and does not fragment. Hogs over 400lbs require additional shots on target.

I purchased some of this ammo along with a DPMS AP4 upper for my AR from Midway. The first group after sight in was under 1/2" for a three shot group, and the barrel wasn't even broken in yet! I later used this ammo during bucks only season and downed a very nice 8 point with only one shot. The bullet entered behind the left shoulder taking out the lungs and heart, and breaking the off side (right) shoulder and exiting the animal completely. Though the range was about 70 yards this is the kind of penetration I've come to expect when using Barnes bullets. Two thumbs up here!!!

I fired 3 rounds through the same hole at 25 yards with a bushmaster M4 in 6.8mm SPC. I then fired three rounds at 100 yards and I could cover them up with my thumb. After that I just put that ammo away since it's kinda expensive. I'm very happy with the accuracy of this round in my bushmaster. MOA or less shooter for me out of an AR-15 is pretty good in my eyes.
