Bought this mount about a ...

Bought this mount about a mount ago. Went on relatively easy. Stripper clip guide was a pain to remove. I shot two and a half hundred rounds with this once I mounted it to my rifle. Took a bit of adjustment on my scope to get it sighted in. But the reason for that on closer inspection the mount was crooked. Which means the quality control of the mount isn't that good. The way to fix that is to shave a little bit of metal on the horizontal contact point on the bottom-side of the mount that contacts the receiver to have it sit straight. The reason for the low score is because on the checking of the fit to make sure it's straight. The mounting screw stripped out too easy. And I tried to make sure to not over tighten based on the reviews before of the screw stripping out. Thankfully it didn't strip the threads in the receiver. Now I'm going to invest my money on an actual A.R.M.S. #18 mount rather than a copy. Or better yet a Sadlak mount. When you've got a $1500 to $2000 dollar gun. You shouldn't cut corners and at least spend the extra money and get a good quality mount.

Mounted on an older model ...

Mounted on an older model Springfield M1A NM. Instructions are clear, and specify threadlock compound for all fasteners, as well as a torque value for the larger bolt. Installed mount as instructions said, using loctite and torque wrench (with a good 6 point socket) and installed my scope with medium rings. A 40mm objective lens clears the heat shield, and the eyepiece just clears the rear sight aperture. I have a good cheek weld without any stock modifications with my setup. Shot 150 rounds today and am very satisfied with the performance so far. All fasteners remain tight, and the gun holds within an inch or so at 100 yds with some mystery hand-loads I inherited when I bought the rifle. The only thing I do not like about the mount are all the sharper edges on the rail and corners of the mount. It doesn't take much to snag brush and foliage in the field.

I have had this mount for over a year and it works great. It is solid steel and it easily mounted to my M1A. After using some blue loctite during the installation, the mount has held zero for hundreds of rounds. I really like how low this mount sits.

Purchased the product for my M1A. Mount worked well however the bolt attaching the mount to the rifle stripped easily. This was not the fault of the product but mine. The reason for the low score is for product support. After contacting Pro mag industries they said that they don't sell parts and acted as though I was taking up their valuable time. After telling them that I couldn't find the bolt anywhere else, he said to e-mail them with contact information and he would send some. However, the e-mail didn't work and was returned and I have an unusable mount.

I bought one of these and it is mounted perfectly on my M1A NM. I have been looking all over for a low profile mount but didn't want to spend all that money on an Arms 18 if I could even find one. I was surprised at how solid it is and how it is holding true even to this day. I love the finish on it which matches the receiver almost perfectly before I had the whole gun coated in a protective dark earth coating, which looks sweet by the way. I couldnt be happier with the product and the service from Midway.

Appeared to be a decent copy of a Arms 18 mount. I have bought several Pro-Mag AR mounts in the past and have been very pleased with the quality of the mounts especially for the value. However, this one was extra rough in casting, and had a strange "purple" color finish to it. I should return this mount, it is that disappointing. I am going to try to refinish it and attempt to use it. I have had great results with other Pro-Mag mounts, but in this case I should have spent the extra money and got the actual Arms mount, Springfield mount, Sadlak, or Smith mount.

I put this on my National ...

I put this on my National match M1A with no problems so far. The finish was fine. It has held zero for over 500 rds and has not loosened up. The instructions recommend loc-tite which I used. For the price it can't be beat. It looks like it bends when the set screws are over tightened but I tested it with a laser level and it stays straight.
