This recoil pad is made of Sorbothane, one of the top shock absorbing materials available, and is approximately 1.2" thick. Installing this recoil pad will make shooting more comfortable and reduce flinching, resulting in better accuracy and quicker follow-up shots. Due to manufacturer stock deviation, the models listed in the description are for reference only. To ensure proper fit, measure the butt of your stock and or print off the correct template. Amazing shock absorber

I put this Kickezz on a super lightweight Franchi 12 gauge O/U and it absorbs the recoil better than anything I've used. It is quite thick and heavy, but I needed to add some length to the stock anyway so it's fine. I did have to shave a little off one side to fit it to my gun but it is not made to be shaped by grinding. It's very soft so the side scuffed up. Overall I'm quite happy with it. The gun would have been difficult to shoot with the factory recoil pad. This was quite an improvement.

I bought this for a Ruger ...

I bought this for a Ruger Red Label. The mounting holes did not line up. The pad would have been offset by 3/16th inch. For a prefit, I expected little or no error. Drilling new holes was not an option. they would have been too close to the existing holes and most likely would have failed.

The factory red rubber ...

The factory red rubber butt pad on my Ruger M77 tang safety rifle never did much to absorb the punch of full house .30-06 rounds from the bench, and the problem has only gotten worse in the 22 years after I bought it because the aging rubber in the butt pad has steadily turned nearly as hard as the wood stock itself. I was a bit apprehensive about buying this recoil pad because it doesn't say in the description if it fits my specific older tang safety version of the Ruger M77, instead indicating that it fits the M77 Mark II.However, I am happy to say that this turned out to very closely follow the outline of my Ruger's butt stock, with only a slight overhang at the part of the butt that points down when held in the shooting position that I intend to file and sand away when I get a chance. I did have to make some modifications to the screw holes in the pad, which turned out to actually be slot shaped, by grinding some of the hard plastic on the side facing the stock to get the screws to line up with the existing screw holes in my butt stock. I did that instead of simply drilling new screw holes in my stock to avoid modifying my gun in any way. The stainless screws that this pad comes with have the exact same size and thread, so I also didn't have to worry about making new holes because of different size screws or thread. Once I had the new Kick Eez pad installed, I went to the range, firing ten quick shots from the bench, and I can honestly say I was amazed to find that the improvement was even more than I had hoped!

This Recoil Pad started to crumble apart the Sorbothane is not rubber after doing some research and does not hold up after one hunting trip and I treat my equpt with great care. Not impressed at all with Kick Eez products. That is my honest opinion

UPDATE ON 7/7/10 REVIEW: I've since had to chop my stock length down. With the Kick-eez pad, I ended up with a 14.25" LOP. It was hard to get correct eye relief on the scope. My LOP is now 13.25" after chopping it, and I had to re-grind the pad to fit the shorter stock. Now, the eye relief is correct, and the Hawkeye fits me better than ever. Recoil reduction is still amazing, and I'm shooting full power 30-06 loads with 168 match bullets.

Mounted this KZ108 pad on ...

Mounted this KZ108 pad on a standard size stainless Ruger Hawkeye 30-06 with the gray laminate stock. Screw holes needed to be re-drilled on stock to match pad holes. Outside fit around stock was very close, but required minor touch up with a file and sandpaper, while the stock was wrapped with tape to protect it. I've never installed a pad before, but it was easy for me to do this. The results look clean and professional. Recoil reduction was simply incredible! I can now shoot this 30-06 all day at the range with no pain at all. I used to get a bruised shoulder from just 10 rounds. Plan on putting one on my Browning BPS next. I will never shoot a high-power firearm again without putting one of these recoils pads on first. Highly recommended!

Purchased this to put on a Ruger #1. Holes lined up, but outer dimensions didn't. It was a good bit too small. I plan to check it on other guns it is supposed to fit, so as to get some use out of it.

Using on Browning Citori, ...

Using on Browning Citori, Lightning Sporting Clays. Quality good. Not quite a perfect fit, but very close for a pre-fit pad and looks fine on gun. Top hole was correct, had to drill new bottom hole. Much better comfort than stock pad. Also increased my LOP about 5/8" which was desired. Less than half the price of custom fit at gunsmith and didn't have to be without the gun for days or weeks. This is also a cheap way to try different LOP.

It was a little frustrating mounting it on my Ruger #1 because the hole spacing didn't match, but once I got it on, it looked great. I tested it out with 310 grain hot loads in 358 Norma Magnum. For the first time ever, with such loads, I didn't have a bruised shoulder when I was done.
