I own a Savage 93 22 ...

I own a Savage 93 22 Magnum, with factory Weaver type built in mounts. I chose the Burris Zee mounts so I could remove the Sightron scope and hold zero near enough when travelling or shipping the rifle to my hunting spots. They work fine in this situation. Very sturdy rings, more than needed on a 22 mag. All of my 17 long rifles in centerfire have Leupold QR mounts and I find the Z rings sturdier and "feels" like a more solid fit on the bases. I am happy with the Leupold's performance, but the Z are as good if not better in the right application.

Great product other than ...

Great product other than the flat head bolts to clamp it to the rail! I tossed them and purchased some Allen head bolts at True Value and love them now. I would rate them at 5 stars if they came with the Allen head bolts. Great rings for the price and as usual, Burris delivers another solid product.

These are great rings. I use them with steel warne maxima bases on all my rifles and they all hold zero from the 17 rem fireball to the 35 whelen. Solid, all steel construction, function perfectly.

A solid scope ring. Well ...

A solid scope ring. Well made and sturdy on my weaver rail. Made of steel unlike aluminum in others. Can handle 300 win mag w/o shifting. Downside is that it tends to rust since its steel and somewhat difficult to install on the weaver rail. You see the base of this ring is not hinged so you need to hammer the base on the side to make it grip the rail. Then you apply the final gripping force by tightening the screw. If you intend to regularly remove your scope after using your gun or like to install other sights such as red dots on the same gun, do not buy this ring. Get the Weaver or Millet rings which is easier to remove and install w/ scope attached. But if you will permanently keep the scope on the gun. This thing is recommendable. Its very solid and will last eons.

Rings are solid and ...

Rings are solid and sturdy BUT...The way they attach to the base without having a detachable leaf is a real pain, I tried to use them on a .50 A&E Dessert Eagle, the problem is they cannot be slid over the ends and therefore had to be stretched over it instead, the result was that once I managed to get it on the rail I was unable to tighten them down with the flat head screws that come with the rings. I will likely go to the hardware store and try to get a set of allen screws before I attempt to mount them on anything else.I believe though that with the Allen head replacement screw and a rail they can be slid on from the ends they would be a decent pair of rings, I think though for my preference I will go back to the Leupold rings wich are around the same price and easier to mount on any rail

The rings that I received ...

The rings that I received were flathead only,(probably changed from several complaints or something) the reason I do not prefer them is because they are not easily detached. In order to mount/dismount them you have to remove the entire cross screw that fits into the cross-slots. I bought them because I don't like to fumble with leaves that can rotate to the wrong side, when removing these they will always fit the same way when returned, however they require you to remove the screws then slide them off. however, as stated they are very sturdy and keep zero, on my 44mag. Lapping is required to get rid of the gaps you will get on the sides.
