A black extended rubber recoil pad adds 1" to the length and helps with recoil absorption for the Ruger 10/22, 44 Carbine, Mini-14 and Mini-30.

Technical Information

Notes:

Uses original screws for installation.

Adds approximately 1" to length of stock.

Not compatible with plastic stocks, meant for use with factory wooden stocks, or aftermarket stocks properly inletted for the shape of the recoil pad.

This is not a recoil pad, it is a stock extender. It is made of a hard and dense plastic, but is not slippery, and does have very welcome grooves to keep it on your shoulder. It gives a badly needed 1" extention to the short stock of the Ruger Mini. Installation is simple, a two screw change, but it is not esthetic. The pad overhangs the stock by approx. 1/16 in on all sides, but it is easy to work with a file and sand paper, so you fit it to your rifle like any other recoil pad. I left mine as is, and it is a very fine solution to the short stock and slippery plastic butt plate of the Ruger. Recommended!

As the Mini 14 is a soft recoiling rifle, this pad should be made of softer rubber. It is too hard to do much for the recoil. Also, the line "Gunsmithing Require - No" should be changed to a "Yes". The pad protrudes about 1/16" all the way around the stock of my Mini 14. An email from John Masen said this was normal.

Solved my problem

Even with maximum scope adjustment, I have not been able to achieve the correct eye relief in the prone position with my 10/22 carbine. I ordered this part and it added +\- 1 1/8" to my Ruger's LOP. Now I have a full scope picture standing, sitting and prone. The install took 5 minutes. As other reviewers have noted, the fit is not perfect, but that can easily be corrected, if desired.

This added to the length of the stock, which was needed. The pad actually looks good on the mini 14 imo. However, it is a bit of a sloppy fit. I wish it fit a bit tighter. Overall, a good product and looks nice.

Bought for old 44 mag carbine had to do a little trim around the rubber on the top mount love that added length.

This product does not come close to fitting my recent model, stock 10/22. If there were a side view you could save yourself from ordering the wrong part as it is apparent from the side that this will not fit my stock.

Quite frankly a Ruger 10/22 doesn't need a recoil pad, but I ordered it to extend the length of the stock a little. It did that well. But the form, fit and workmanship of the pad are very poor. If you don't mind what your firearm looks like, as I don't in this case, the pad extends the length of the stock adequately.

This product installed very easily on my Mini 30. It uses the factory screws and drops right into place. Once installed, the recoil pad makes the rifle more comfortable to fire and also makes it more natural to point and aim because of the extra length it adds to the stock. Although it does hang over the edge of the stock a bit, the overall fit and look is excellent. This product is a good option to reduce felt recoil and to lengthen the short factory stock.

Good: It does fit the odd shaped Ruger rifle stock pretty well.Bad: Not a recoil pad at all. It's hard plastic and does not compress. It's really nothing more than a rifle butt extension.

Purchased one for a mid-production 44 mag carbine. Checked it for fit on a No. 3 carbine-perfect- purchased another one for the 44. Adds a bit to the stock length and makes a nice recoil pad.
