This brilliantly designed holster is the result of collaboration between Tactical Solutions and Black Dog Mazazine. The new Black Max Series HMK holster is designed to fit the Ruger® Mark Series (MK-I, MK-II, MK-III, & 22/45) .22LR pistols with or without an optic or a suppressor. Black Dog's HMK offers an adjustable retention for the various versions of the Mark Series pistols as well as reversible design for left or right handed shooters. Accommodates Slab Side, Bull Barrel, and Tapered Barrel models in all lengths.

Excellent product, it is designed for the 6 inch tac sol light weight upper but fits the 5-1/2 inch bull almost perfectly (I did cut off about 1/4 inch to make it perfect) it is well made and durable. It will work with the hi-vis sights but will not work with the williams fire sights. Hope this helps.

I purchased this holster ...

I purchased this holster after reading a review of it by Jeff Quinn on his website where he describes using it with a suppressor. The holster I received will not accommodate a Tac65 so beware. The diameter of the holster is large enough to hold the Tac65 but there are 6 ribs running the length of the barrel cavity that decrease the diameter to around 1 inch. The holster does hold my MK1 6 7/8 inch target just fine, with the end of the barrel protruding .75 inches from the holster.

I had to do some grinding to allow the extended magazine release to fit but overall this holster works well with my MK II bull barrel target pistol. I also have the Volquartsen grips and an aftermarket front sight and everything clears fine.

I use my holster for range shooting at least once a week. The pistol is easy to draw, easy to re-holster and attachment of a red dot sight causes no problem at all. It is exactly what I needed....at a very fair price. I expect several friends to purchase one after seeing mine.

Just got this holster today and popped my Ruger 22/45 in it and was very satisfied with the fit. Love the fact that it will hold a 22/45 target model with the 5.5" barrel with the factory weaver mount and a 2x20 pistol scope. Also another great feature is that it is not bulky at all. Only downside I have is that the retention is too good, little difficult to draw the pistol, loosen the retention screw too much and the pistol will rattle some in the holster.

I recently purchased a Ruger Mark III Hunter with a 4.5 inch barrel for my wife. I then began searching for an acceptable holster and I am really happy with this one. The holster appears to be very durable and the retention is easily adjustable. Since the holster is made for a much longer barrel, I cut approximately 1.5 inches off for the perfect fit. I showed the holster to several range instructors and they seemed very pleased with it as well. It is also easy to use, easy to convert to left hand, and is reasonably priced. I highly recommend this holster.

This is a quality holster. 2 or 3 minutes after unpackaging, it was adjusted to my prefered tension, and riding on my belt. My MKIII bull barrel with scope mount and reflex site fits with no problems. I haven't worn it extensively yet, but it doesn't seem to be noisy. My only negitive is that they only come in black. If Black Dog started making them in OD and FDE or Coyote tan, it would undoubtedly fly off the shelves.
