Had the same problem as ...

Had the same problem as one other fellow posted, had to dremel out my "safety" hole just a little bit, but once that was done, it just fell right in compared to the "bent paper clip" def. recommend this part to any AK owner. And I used this on a AMD-65, just so people will know that it does fit this varient.

Good idea, just had a ...

Good idea, just had a small problem. When I went to put the safety back in it would not go. Got the Dremel out and ground just a tiny bit in the bottom of the hole in the plate. Went right in then. Overall I am pleased with it, still better than the bent paperclip as one guy called it.

This is a mandatory part to purchase for your AK variant.My VEPR K came with one from the factory. It's a simple drop in replacement. The open ended hole at the extreme end of the plate fits into the hammer pin groove, and the middle hole fits onto the trigger pin. Finally, the selector lever fits into the last hole of the plate.Get rid of that factory hook/crook ASAP. It will make removal/reinstallation of the FCG a snap.

If you're having problems with your Shepherd's Crook staying in place, I highly recommend this replacement part.After having my trigger pin come loose, having a gunsmith "repair" the problem, having the trigger pin come loose again. I decided to purchase this item. What a difference, the installation was easy, and the design of the item ensures that the trigger pin stays where it should. Plus you're not relying on what basically amounts to a bent paperclip.It's a small price to pay for peace of mind.
