I've just replaced an RCBS Trim Pro Cutter with this cutter after reading a review by another reloader. I've trimmed several hundred cases and am so far impressed with its performance over the conventional steel cutter. It cuts clean and uniformly. The RCBS [I love their products] steel cutter dulled up after several thousand rounds and cut a .30 cal. groove in the cutter [I can still use it for other cal's]. So far I think it's tops and will review after another 1000 rds.[Thanks for the tip!!!]

I was inspired to try ...

I was inspired to try this based my need to trim .204 caliber cases, and on the Redding catalog (2005), where they said it was completely compatibility with my RCBS Trim-Pro trimmer, I have replaced the steel cutter on my RCBS Trim-Pro cutter with this cutter. Note that it requires 5/32" shaft pilots (like RCBS), whereas Redding's own standard is 3/16" shaft. Despite the 17 caliber in the name, it has the same cutting diameter as the RCBS (.560-.570) and costs very little more than the RCBS steel replacement cutter. And I've trimmed all the way up to .50 AE on my RCBS cutter. So I'd suggest, if you use an RCBS Trim-Pro, treat yourself to one of these cutters. I'll use it for all my trimming from now on!
