Carlos Hathcock was a Gunnery Sergeant and sniper with the United States Marine Corps. Most of his sniper experience came from active duty during the Vietnam War. One of his most successful shots was when he shot an enemy sniper through his scope, hitting him in the eye. This DVD features an on-camera interview with the GySgt himself. Here he tells the story of his career in "his own words".
Released in 2003. 70 Mins.ABOUT THE GySgt: (1942-1999) Born in Arkansas and raised by his grandparents, Carlos Hathcock married Jo Winstead in 1962 and joined the USMC in 1964. During his time served, he earned the Silver Star and Purple Heart. After Vietnam, he opened up a sniper school at Quantico. In 1975 he was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis. This disease claimed his life in 1999.
