I have had a 44mag Simmons scope on my Rem. 700, 338 Win mag since Simmons made them. People told me that after a few shots the scope would be toast because a .338 kicks so hard. THEY WERE WRONG!!!! This scope has held up to about 650 rounds without a hitch, or losing zero. I have bought many Simmons without any problems and have been very happy.

I decided to give Simmons a shot as I've never owned their brand, and with the 44MAG, I must say, I'm glad I did. For it's price, it has superb optics, and with the finger adjustable knobs and side-focus adjustability is so much easier. I have it mounted on a Ruger 77/22 Magnum "All Weather" model, and it's focusing capabilities are spot on and with it's glass, I saw a nice clear target to get sighted in. You get what you pay for, however, this scope is worth so much more. I'm gonna enjoy my hunts with this rifle.

I was very impressed with this affordable scope. I mounted it on my 7.62x39 Ruger mini thirty using the factory supplied rings. Other 44mm scopes were too large and didn't clear the barrel with stock rings. Sighting in was easy and adjustable eyepiece and side focus makes it easy for multiple users of the rifle. I have fired 50 rounds through this gun and dismounted and remounted the scope since sighting it in and so far has held zero. This scope provides excellent clairity and definition from 25 yards on out.

I just received the 44 Mag today and installed on my 243 bolt gun. The trip to the field was a pleasure and sighted it in very easy. Very good clarity and quality for the price. I plan on 2 more for my 35 Whelen and 350 Rem. mag.

I have had this scope mounted on a .243 for 2 years now and love it. It sighted in easy, stays zeroed in. Before deer season I take it to the range for assurance that it is on target, and have not had a need to to re-sight in. I recommend this scope to anyone.

My first exposure to Simmons was by chance, I had broke the stock on my rifle and had to borrow my friends hunting rifle to hunt. He had a Simmons scope mounted that exceeded the clairity and eye relief that I had on my Ziess. In fact the body of the Simmons was simmilar to the Ziess. This is now my hunting and target scope choice, for the money you can't beat Simmons.

I used Simmons' scopes years ago, and like several other "cheap" 'scopes, their initial quality was fine but steadily declined to a point where they were not worth their price. Acting on a friend's suggestion, I purchased one of the "new" ones. I am very pleased. It has:1) Excellent light transmission,2) Excellent clarity,3) Does not change point of impact with a change in magnification,4) Handles "magnum" cartridges and loads, and5) The additional focus knob is excellent for non-perfect and old eyes.The matte finish is ugly, but I can think of no other complaints.Having given this excellent review, I expect three things to happen:1) Quality in general will degrade,2) This 'scope will fail, and3) Simmons will quit making this model.No... I'm not joking. That's precisely what most other American manufacturers do.
