This will be my fourth ...

This will be my fourth "Flameau" box (although it originally was simply called "The Box.") I have used this box for for 16 years and it is perfect for carrying my ammo, extra magazines, hearing protection, and other small items when I go to a shooting match (I.D.P.A).The lid has NEVER failed me in all these years, but I have never filled it to the brim with ammo, either. (I routinely carry 200-300 rds. of ammo at each shooting match.) Owning four separate boxes allows me to keep the various calibers separate. As well, the taper has never been an issue either. Great Value and Speedy Delivery!!

Don't like it one bit. ...

Don't like it one bit. Seals great if the tray is in place, but the tray takes up too much room and it's pretty useless.Like most boxes of this type, it needs the tray to seal, so if you really want an ammo box to fill with ammo, and to keep your ammo dry, keep looking for one without a tray. The tray takes up about four 20 round boxes worth of space (depending on caliber)

I bought my first ...

I bought my first Flambeau box on an impulse because of it's unique size. Now don't get me wrong, I use and would never give up my MTM dry boxes but sometimes they are just too big. I used that first Flambeau box to pack all thoes little items that I just needed for a "West River" upland bird hunt. You know, the knife that is just right to clean Pheasants and such, the water proof gaters, the game shears, ect. With my few free hours I find it easier to buy extra gear and pack it in these neat little boxes, I mean the stuff that you just always leave at home and that by doing so just seems to take a lot of fun out of the trip. The next box was used with my 17HMR. It has stuff like the neat little wind meter that Midway sells, but without my box marked 17HMR would get left at home along with the extra clips, or worse yet would I have any clips? This brings me to the reason for this review, I don't mind the tappered sides also I noticed the low ratings Sunday night when I was ordering 3 more boxes because I had taken out a new rifle to do a little varmint hunting and had to go back home after being all set up and ready to shoot only to find I had forgotten an essential piece of equipment for that rifle. When the UPS truck shows up tomorrow 1 of thoes boxes will be loaded and marked so my forgetful memory won't cost me another hour of shooting time. I think these boxes are just great. Thank you Flambeau and Midway!

I wish the product ...

I wish the product description had mentioned that it has a relatively severe taper from top to bottom, which wastes a lot of space/volume.I measured the footprint as being 6"x12". Near the top, it measures 8"x15", due to the taper, lip and hinge.So, it takes up 1260 ci of shelf space, but provides only 1123 ci of storage space. Of course, that overstates the storage capacity somewhat due to how space gets wasted in a tapered container.

In general, a superb dry ...

In general, a superb dry box at a good price. Makes for an excellent ammo box. If you really fill it up, the weight of the ammo can begin to stress the lid a bit when carrying (as is the case with ALL plastic cases - simply use more cases or get a metal ammo can for really large quantities of ammo)Some Points:-American Made-High Quality Rubber Seal Around Lid-"Handy" Storage Compartment Over Lid
