Giving it the benefit of the doubt by assuming they are mfg to general specs expecting some fitting will be required for different quality mags. I fit it to a cheap mag I have and it took minor filing then put it in one of my RO mags and had to a major overhaul to make it work. All in all I am satisfied with product.

Ordered three. All three were badly burred and wouldn't allow the magazine to be loaded with even one round. Much time and effort was required, filing and testing, to finally get them to load and feed properly and reliably. Also, the follower has a habit of popping out and forward of the magazine making it difficult to load the first round.Don't know where these are made, but the fit and finish is worse than very poor and not worthy of the Pachmayr name.

I used this product to replace a McCormick follower that split. It's as good as any non dimpled follower can get, and seems to fit the 8rounders, with Wolf 7rnd springs. Used in a Springer G.I.

Ordered one for my Colt OACP Enhanced factory mags. I would consistently get failures of the last round to load. This follower has corrected that problem. Plan to order 3 more for the rest of my Colt Officer mags.

I ordered 5 of these, usually Pachmyer has a great product, but these guides will not work on any mags I got. They stick and will not go into the mag, I may be able to polish them down with emery cloth because all the edges on the guides are quite rough. It may take some time to get them to work, but I won't be getting any more.

The finish is so bad on ...

The finish is so bad on these they wont even fit into a magazine body. After 10 minutes of filing they still are not even the correct dimensions to fit a 1911 magazine. I ordered more direct from Pachmayer thinking I just got a bad batch and they were the same way. I will not buy again.

I tried these in two 1960's vintage U.S.G.I. 1911 magazines that I could not make work. Turned two magazines I thought were ready for the trash into very reliable mags in my GI 1911A1.

I installed these in the 8 round mags that came with my mid 1990's vintage Colt Enhanced Government Model, because I didn't like the way the folded (like the Chip McCormick Shooting Star followers) would sometimes tilt forward and catch on the front of the mag body (the cutout for the slide stop) and not go down when loading the first round. These Pachmayr followers have the same issue. Like the originals, they work fine once the mag is loaded, but it is a pain to have to push the follower back in order to load the first round. My Metalform and Wilson mags have a follower with a different design, and do not have this problem, so I will try that style in the Colt mags.

Does not work with Charles Daly factory 8rd mags, or MecGar 8rd mags; so take the "...designed to improve feeding and reliability in ALL TYPES of 1911 magazines" [my emphasis] with a grain of salt. Make sure your original mag followers follow the same design.Other than the incompatibility issue, they seem to be very well constructed. I wish I could tell you first-hand how they performed.
