New Model Vaquero's with small frame (NV Series) and Blackhawk 50th Anniversay models with XR-3 grip frame and internal hammer lock use the same internal springs as the older Ruger single actions EXCEPT for hammer springs.

Just put it in a 1977 ...

Just put it in a 1977 mfg. New Model Blackhawk with the 18 lb. hammer spring. No problems with ignition nor with trigger reset. Works perfectly and now has a clean 2.5 lb. break.

This would have been an easy install had I known about the mainspring and securing it. I don't like the 30 oz and have ordered the 40 oz to replace it. With the 30 oz it is just a bit too much of a hair trigger for my liking.

Installed this on my Single Six, very easy to install, took about 20 minutes. If I did this again it would probably take no more than 10 minutes or so. Big improvement over the trigger as it came from the factory. I haven't checked with a trigger gage, but feels around 21/2 to 3pounds. I would rate this a must have product if you have a Ruger single action.

I use the 30 oz for target shooting and hunting. Gives a good light pull which is what it is made for. If you don't like a light trigger then install the 40oz spring. It can be done without removing the hammer spring or grip frame.

I tried this in my 357 BH that currently has a 19# hammer spring. This 30 oz. spring was too light, and made trigger reset slow. I'm not one to be uncomfortable with light triggers but this one definitely is. I was dry-firing my revolver with this spring and on a couple of occasions I dropped the hammer accidentally. If there were live rounds in the gun, it would've been an accidental discharge. The 40 oz. trigger spring mated w/ a 19# hammer spring gave a more positive trigger reset, while lightening the trigger pull substantially from stock. This 30 oz. spring may be better suited for a lighter gun such as the single six.
