The RCBS Universal Reloading Tray is a solid, steady plastic platform that holds 40 cases at a time to streamline powder charging and inspection. Stepped holes minimize case tipping to reduce powder spillage. Fits most rifle and pistol cases. This block actually has 80 holes in it. 40 holes are marked #1 and 40 holes are marked #2, these holes alternated so there is space in-between each case when it is in the block.

This holds 80 38 Spl or 357 cases. I load 50 at a time. Space 50 in the tray however you like so that you can get your fingers in there to place the bullets. It is sturdy, not too big and works great for 38 Spl.

The cases fit poorly into the holes. They provide you with two different size holes, but neither does a good job. The cases wobble and flop around. This using 38 Special, 10mm Auto, 308 WIN, 30-06, and 300 WIN MAG. My second gripe: It only holds 40 rounds. Why? Primers are sold by the 100's. Bullets almost always in 50's or 100's, yet someone at RCBS had the idea of making a loading block that held 40. Bad idea. My last gripe: Poor material. Sometime I degrease my cases and rinse them in hot water to remove sizing lube. When I'm done I put the entire loading tray into the oven and set it at 225 F to speed drying. Well these RCBS blocks melted quite badly, forcing me to use a heat-gun to remove my fire-formed brass from the now drooping loading block. I've done this many times in the past with my Lyman loading block and never had any melting on those. Do yourself a favor; buy the Lyman 50-Round Case Loading Block #7728054. This RCBS is a waste of your time and money.

Very poor cartridge block. Some cases wobble and some don't fit. I would not throw these blocks away but send them back and maybe someone will figure out they are junk. Midway is getting mine back.

I decided to pick one up to match the one I originally got in my RCBS rock chucker kit. I am new to reloading, so I was looking for something cheap and this one was on sale. It works as advertised, and for my reloading needs it suffices. I can see why many complain about it. Pistol brass sits in it pretty good, but rifle brass is another story. The way they designed it certain sized brass will only fit squarely in certain holes (they are staggered in numbers 1 and 2), so using this you can only utilize half the block. I use the whole thing and the rounds stay in, but obviously lean to one side or the other. There are probably better blocks out there, but I got it on sale and for my casual reloading needs (9mm, 40SW, 30carbine, 223rem, and 30-06) it works for me. Happy reloading!

This loading block deserve to be put on fail-blog. Not only it comes with a very odd loading number---40/80, it also too big/small for many loads. Good luck digging brass out of it if you load anything shorter than a 9mm, and good luck forcing large cases in there.

Some rounds don't stand up well in the tray and move around which is bad when pouring powder. Only 40 rounds, WTH? You can put 80 but that's still an odd number for reloading. I basically use it for a secondary tray to hold rounds or something. Not to mention the holes are too close together and makes it difficult to get a round out without knocking the others over, not good when you've already charged your powder.

This tray is the best for reloading pistol ammo. It is only Ok for loading rifle ammo. Buy extra because it only holds forty rounds.

This tray is junk. You probably will get this tray in a kit like I did. Throw it away and spend the couple dollars to get a good tray like the Lyman universal. This tray does not hold 9mm, too short, 30-30, rimmed and rock all over belted, same. Just give it to your kids to play with in the yard.

Doesn't work well with some short cartridges, 9mm, etc. Large diameter cartridges have to use every other hole because of the inside step.

Works well with all my rifle cartridges I've tried so far, but is slightly too small for .44 mag. The shells don't bottom out and they wobble a little. Otherwise very well made, durable, and easily cleaned.

The good: Strong, durable, easy to clean.The bad: Only holds 40. Very shallow, easy to knock over cartriges. Does not hold small cartriges like .223 very well at all.
