Not enough padding for protection

I purchased this rifle case to store/transport my Ruger Gunsite Scout. For the price, this case would be okay if used gently, but taking your guns to farm property is usually not a smooth ride.

Problems I have with this case: there is not enough padding in the case to keep the gun and stored items from moving around when the case is closed. Additionally, the case does not line up well when closing and you must be sure that the latches are actually connected and secure. You could easily think you got the latches snapped together, but if the halves did not line up when closing you could get a spill once you pick up the case to move it.

A real beefy case, ...

A real beefy case, especially for the cost. Thick outer plastic, and big enough to fit most of my AR-15's comfortably. Only exception I could see would be with a carrying handle mounted scope.

You cannot beat this case for the money. It is rugged and well built. As to earlier reviews. if I were to "ship" my hunting rifle I would choose to spend more $ for the case but for a trip to and from the range, bouncing around in the back of the truck it can't be beat.

I am very unhappy with this case. I shipped my rifle for a prairie dog trip and it moved significantly during transport. I was lucky it wasn't damaged like my brother's; his scope was ruined. Lucky he purchased shipping insurance. Buy a case that has tie downs instead.

This is a nice case for the money. Have two of them, will buy more as they are much cheaper than anything else comparable. Not something I would use for commercial airline travel, but fine to and from the range. Also good for hunting, I prefer using a hard case rather than a soft case to protect nice wood and scopes in the bed of the truck.
