Purchased a package to ...

Purchased a package to use in a Ruger SP101. Caps in the package I got do not fit. They are loose. You can hear them rattle in the cylinder and come out of the cylinder and block it from rotating.Maybe I got a bad batch. Don't know. Sent an email to mfg. Have not heard back yet.

About eight months ago I ...

About eight months ago I decided to perfect my revolver double action shooting technique. From reading the literature I figured I would have to dry snap a DA revolver about 10,000 times before I would have the DA trigger stroke mastered. I have personally broken 3 guns dry firing without snap caps, (a Smith M29, a Smith M24 and a Walther PPK) so I decided to buy some snap caps to reduce the wear and tear on my training revolver, a Colt Official Police 38. After reading the reviews here of the A-ZOOM and the Tipton brand, I decided to go with the A-ZOOM brand since they appeared to be more durable.The A-ZOOM caps are well made out of a red aluminum with what appears to be a hard plastic or rubber piece in the area where the primer would be on a live cartridge. While the A-ZOOM caps are tough they are not indestructible. After 9,500 dry shots the rim of one of the A-ZOOM snap caps broke off; while the "cartridge" still fits in the chamber of the revolver, I'm not certain that the firing pin impacts on the rubber or polymer primer any more which may negate the effect of having a snap cap in the chamber. Only one of the snap caps has failed to this point and I am sufficiently happy with the A-ZOOM caps that I am ordering another set. I will continue to keep track of my dry firing to see how well the rest of the caps hold up. The Official Police, by the way, shows no signs of wear or breakage from the dry firing.Despite the breakage, I think that the A-ZOOM caps are worth their price and would recommend this product to anyone contemplating regular dry firing of a revolver.

I use these in a Taurus ...

I use these in a Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite. After at least 400 dry fires there is no noticeable wear on these rimmed Azooms.
