Great stuff!

I use these in a Wolf CVA ML and could not be more happy. I was looking for a cheaper way to shoot BP and bought these to try. I shoot these with a generic .451 (45ACP bullet) and it will print 1" or better at 100 yards. I didn't want to spend all my money on the fancy bullets to put a hole in paper, so tried these with some extra 45ACP bullets, and now I think I will use them for hunting instead of the others "designed" for muzzle loaders...

I have been using these sabots for over 3 years now so I can write a review with ease. First off, I would like to say the harvester muzzleloading is a great company to deal with. They actually do care about their products and your use of them. These sabots, as with all HM products, are truly top notch. I have been using this sabot and the 300 grain scorpion pt gold, along with blackhorn 209 with great success. I couldnt believe the accuracy, the ease of loading the claim, and the tight seal I get in the barrel. I tried using other bullets and dirty old powders to see what it would do to my accuracy and loading abilities. Well, they didnt do anything to them and thats when I knew I had the real deal. Plus, unlike many new muzzleloader products, they are highly affordable. I have used alot of products over the years and I can say that these are right at the top for "must use." I even give these away at the range and people cant believe how great they work and how easy they are to load with a "tight" bore. Give'em a shot and you wont be disappointed.

Regardless of the bullet ...

Regardless of the bullet diameter for which the Harvester folks intended this sabot to be used, they work great with SSTs in my H&R Sidekick (significantly modified via the aftermarket, including a sealed carrierless breech plug). Coupled with "blem" 250 grain SST/Shockwave-esque progeny bulk bullets I bought here last year, a stout measure of Blackhorn 209, and CCI 209M primers, I can keep 10 shots in the black on a 5-1/2" Orange Peel at 200 yards. 100 yard 5-shot groups are usually one ragged hole with the occasional flyer opening up to just over an inch. I can do better at 100 yards with 325 grain .458" FTX and MMP Orange HPH, but the wider over-the-counter availability of components for this Harvester/SST combo makes this another great way to skin this particular cat. Besides, I have yet to take a shot at a whitetail beyond 175 yards with a front stuffer, so until someone opens an NRA target competition category for scoped inline muzzleloaders, I'll save my shoulder with lighter bullets and just shoot more often on the same budget.

This sabot with Hornady 250 gr FTX #45201 .452 Bullet produces sub 2 in groups with 100 gr of PB 209 powder. Easy loading, accurate and priced right. Great product.

I too tried these with Hornady 300 gr 45-70 bullets that mic .458, and had great results. They loaded smoothly in my CVA optima, yes a little tight, but not ramrod breaking tight, once you get the bullet started it followed the rifling all the way down to the powder, and shot very well. Kept all the shots under three inches at 100 yards, which is good for my old and tired eyes. I also tried some 325 and 350 grain 45-70 bullets, and they too shot well. Very consistent with White Hots, 777, and Pyrodex. Recovered sabots showed great rifling engagement, and even with the heavy bullets did not break apart or lose petals. I was very happy with these sabots.

Excellent when used with 45 caliber bullets!!! I purchased these because one reviewer stated they worked great with .458 45 caliber bullets. Not true!! With .458-.459 bullets they are very difficult to get down the barrel....unless perhaps you are a professional weight lifter, but with 45 caliber bullets....well worth it. I shot 240gr. Hornady XTP's and Hornady 240gr. Lead bullets for plinking from my Endeavor barrel and found they were very accurate, easy to reload, and did not require a swab between loads.

This sabot shoots 2" ...

This sabot shoots 2" group out of my old school Knight Disc. It is the only sabot I have found that that gun shoots accurately! It is a finicky gun but it definitely likes this sabot. I use it with a .451" Barnes 250 grain Flat Base bullet and BH209 and it burns so clean and loads so easy I don't have to swab between shots to maintain accuracy. I am a knight owner who is very impressed with this sabot.

Another satisfied Savage shooter. You can push these sabots so hard that the bullet disintegrates instead of penetrating a deer. When you back the load down to a speed that will let your bullet perform as designed, you will never have to worry about drilling this particular 50/458 sabot.

These are excellent. I use them with 300 gr .45 Sierra JSP, a full charge of T7, and out of my New Englander they regularly cut holes at 50 yards. Easy loading, too. I don't know what more you could ask for.

These are actually made for .458" rifle bullets. I use them in my Savage along with Remington's 45-70 300g hollowpoints. They shoot great out to 200yrds haven't tried further yet but plan on it.
