Found the book to be much more useful than I thought it would be. I appreciated the history of the Glock and the explaination of the test the gun has been through. The "cleaning" section was very helpful.

Excellent product, very useful information, especially the serial number prefix guide. I thought the Ptooma stress test of the Glock was a little extreme but the Glock proved to be tough!

Just a quick update to my ...

Just a quick update to my previous review. I may have been mislead by some other retailer's sites advertising a fourth edition. There may have been updates but apparently NOT an all new edition. I value the worth of my reviews and had to add this info. Regardless of updates, I still find my version from 2004 to be outstanding and still the BEST thing in print on Glock pistols, and I believe I've read about everything out there.

This book was not as ...

This book was not as informative as I had hoped. The description states that the book contains a history of Glock. The history section is all of one page. It also stated that it would contain information on all models. All it has about the various models is the technical specs, which you can get in the Glock Annual for free from Glock. The only somewhat useful section is the section on complete disassembly, but even then it's not something one would have to do all that often if ever on a Glock.

This is truly the only ...

This is truly the only book you need about Glock pistols. That is often said but here it really is true. I've read it cover to cover twice, and found almost everything extremely useful and interesting. The only part I didn't particularly care about was the torture test stuff, but that might be fascinating for some. I found information like the model history, pistol functioning, takedown, and serial number dating especially helpful. The Glock is truly a user-friendly pistol with simple parts replacement the order of the day, no fitting required. With that comes the responsibility to know what the heck you're doing. This book gives you the information you need.One note--some sources are selling the FOURTH EDITION. Midway shows this in the third edition as I write this. I'd want the latest version.

This book was a good ...

This book was a good supplement to the AGI Armorer's video, also sold by Midway. Half of the book tells about testing that Ptooma did to see if they could destroy a Glock pistol. They subjected the pistol to an incredible level of abuse, and, for the most part, it was able to continue to function at a high level. This major focus on abuse was not really of interest to me personally, as take good care of my stuff. Nevertheless, it was interesting to see just how much the Glock could take.As far as the general information is concerned, I thought the book was pretty thorough, and there are extensive illustrations. If you're interested in doing things like a trigger job, you'll get more useful information from the AGI video. If you want to have a reference, with lots of pictures, regarding general care of your Glock, and if you're interested in the report on the level of abuse that a Glock will take, then you will like this book. I enjoyed it.
