Eric was right. It is a ...

Eric was right. It is a tight fit. I decided to look at anyway. I have an M4 7.62x39. I loosened the keeper screws on the top handguard at the breach end and "lightly" tapped it into place with a polymer gunsmith hammer while maintaining pressure on the ring. The screws are hard to break loose so be careful. Afterwhich I used medium locktite and reset the screws. Yes I violated my warranty, but it was worth it. Hats off to EOTECH, again. My optics are co-witnessed and functional. The top rail is so close to level with my flattop it's like they were machined at the same shop from one piece of metal. In a word, amazing.

I had high expectations ...

I had high expectations for this handguard, but it didn't pan out well. It seem that the one I received was not machined precisely enough where the handguard nears the gas tube. As a result, the handguard did not seat properly on my Bushmaster M4 carbine, and consequently the delta ring will not spring back around the lower handguard. It could have been a defective unit, but I returned it for a Midwest handguard which fit perfectly.
