It went on easily and clicked in just like everyone says, and it looks really cool. And it even reduced recoil significantly. However, it made my wasr 10, which shoots 2 inch groups at 50 yards with no brake, shoot all over the page, so badly that only 3 out of 4 bullets hit the target. I would not recommend this at all.

My son bought a TAPCO AK-74 style muzzle break for his AK-47. It looked good and worked great. When I got my WSAR I knew I had to have one. Got it within 5 days of order. Found the price great, service fast and correct. Looks good on my WSAR and adds to the control of the WSAR. Highly recommend it to all AK-47 users.

I got one of these to replace the Krinkov style muzzle brake/flash hider that came on my WASR 10/63. This one just looks a lot meaner and more my "style" you could say. It did go on very wobbly but not so much it affected accuracy. I have since used the blue threadlocker method to completely eliminate the wobble. Overall this brake performs as well as it should, and in all seriousness it seems to push my rifle down instead of the upward recoil it is supposed to have. One other thing is that this brake is LOUD!!! Particularly if you are standing back and to the side of the shooter. Makes the rifle feel more like an ultimate death machine than a run of the mill AK.

This TAPCO made brake works as well as the original brake. The problem people seemed to have is due to the wobble. This is an easy fix -- either use a very thin lock washer, peeled wire from a twist tie bent in a loop, or aluminum foil to make the brake fit tight. You can also use Blue Thread Lock in combination with any of the above mentioned methods to completely eliminate the wobble. I personally used wire loop from a peeled twist tie (it's soft wire, so it gets squished perfectly between the barrel and the brake to make it a tight fit) and thread lock. Also, make sure that the locking pin goes into the intended groove and is fully extended!If you don't deal with the wobble, your shots will be all over the place and in the worst case hit the brake and cause exploding bullet fragments to fly everywhere, so please, DO FIX the wobble before you risk other people at the range and your own eyesight for that matter.Other than the wobble, this brake works very well with most all AK clones out there. Well, WASR might be an exception, but why would anyone buy a WASR anyway? Tons of red flags for that weapon out there. Too many Monday copies in that product line. 'nuff said.The heavy construction also helps with rapid fire situations and it also stabilizes the weapon in general (i.e. being nose-heavy is GOOD, as it makes the weapon rest steadily on your supporting hand).The AK-74 muzzle brake is the only muzzle brake to have for an AK. Seriously. You will see / feel what I mean once you drop one of these in and deal with the wobble first (yes, the wobble does not appear in every installation and with every AK out there, but if the brake moves about even a little bit after it is screwed in then fix it and make it tight). The rest is pure shooting fun!

Bought this muzzle brake ...

Bought this muzzle brake for my WASR 3 in 5.56mm. It screw in with no problems but it needs some kind of pressure washers in order to get it fit tight. I did not test because the brake wobbles and and is not aligned true with the bore and I did not want to risk my rifle, although the small 5.56mm bullet have enough space to exit the brake. It looks good but needs some work in order to get it fit right in my WASR 3. Probably that is the accuracy problems some customer reported.

I am in complete agreement with Jeff Beck. I used this muzzle brake on my WASR and it shot way high and right! When I put the muzzle nut back on I was back to shooting nice tight groups. Buy a slant brake or keep it stock. This thing may look cool, but it doesn't work at all.
