I installed this sight ...

I installed this sight with no problems. I used a brass punch and a hammer to pop the old sight out. Just put the punch in front of the old sight at a 45% angle and 2 taps and its out. I turned the front sight down all the way to its lowest setting with a sight adjustment tool and then turned back up 1 turn. This keeps the rear sight low so it gets support on the sides, this keeps the side to side shift to a minimum. After getting the rifle sighted in I cut a piece of hard clear thin plastic about 3/16'' and 2 " long and lifted the rear sight up a bit and slid the plastic under the rear sight in front of the elevation screw, pulled the ends of the plastic up and pushed the rear sight down which pinched the plastic between the sight and the flanges and that took away any side to side play in the rear sight. The peep sight is much faster for 55yr. old eyes than the square notch rear sight that came on the gun. The only draw back is the original sight is adjustable for long range shooting in an instant, however, I probably won't shoot the gun at long range anyway. This sight fit nice and tight on my gun and dose not shift p.o.i. on my rifle. I think its worth the price and is a good mod. for a SKS.

This Williams sight on my ...

This Williams sight on my SKS has side-to-side play that negates any advantage of mounting an aperture rear sight. It mounts poorly to the gun, otherwise it would probably be as good as the other Williams aperture sights. I ended up with a Mojo brand aperture sight on my SKS which mounts like the original SKS notch sight.

Better than the stock ...

Better than the stock sight, but not nearly as good as the Tech Sight TS200. Elevation screw must be set with loctite or it will rapidly back out under fire. There is also side to side play which will affect windage from shot to shot. You can replace the peep sight with a blade style sight, either notch, V or U style and they give a much improved iron sight, but still has the same play and elevation issues as the peep.This is a good replacement if you want upgraded iron sights, but for an aperture sight the TS200 is far better.

Rear sight lacked ...

Rear sight lacked directions as to how to remove old sight and needed a very small punch to remove the old sight pin. Works great but not easy to install without some tools you probably don't have laying around and if you don't have good mechanical skills you should just take it to a gunsmith.

excellent product. base ...

excellent product. base is aluminun,peep is steel. hardest part was removing old sight and inserting new roll pin,but still took about 15 min.adjustability for windage is a plus.

Good deal. Good fit & ...

Good deal. Good fit & finish, very sturdy and easily installed. Allows simple elevation and windage adjustments w/o special tools required on Yugo SKS's. Sight picture greatly improved for my aging eyes.
