It features precision click adjustments for windage and elevation and a dot intensity control switch that has eleven settings for brightness. Powered by a 3 volt lithium battery (included). I put this sight on a Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM .308. This rifle comes with a scout type scope mount installed forward of the receiver and about midway up the 16 inch barrel. I found that using 30mm red dots means using medium height rings which sets the sight up too high and you end up having a chin weld instead of a cheek weld.Dito for the EOTECH with it's integral weaver base. The Millet's 1 inch tube lets you use low rings which gives you a normal cheek weld. Field of view is excellent. The sight is easy to zero and after 300 rounds it still holds zero. I sighted it in at 25 yards and at 100 yards it hit a shoot n'c 5 inch target dead center ending up with a less than a 2 inch group. At 200 yards it will hit a 12 inch by 18inch steel target dead center all day long. And does it without having to change the zero set for 100 yards. The SOCOM comes with a XS ghost ring sight set which is an excellent sight but I cannot shoot groups as tight or as quickly as I can with the Millet red dot. Although you cannot acess the rear ghost ring with this sight installed you can easily access the front sight which has a tritium insert. With the Millet turned off and using just the front sight I can get center of mass hits on a torso size target at 25 yards in low light.On my SOCOM the Millet is a very quick sight. When I shoulder this rifle the Millet is dead on and instantly accessable with the red dot located just avove the front sight.Because the scope mount is attached to the barrel I had some concerns that the heat from the barrel, especially during rapid sustained fire, would affect the sight. That has not been the case. The sight will get hot but it does not seem to affect it. And the sight looks good on this rifle and has a very low profile. I like this sight so much I'm going to get another one

While a good performer on ...

While a good performer on two Ruger MKIIIs current production durability and quality of this product are in question.I purchased three of these since June 1, 09 two have failed within 8 weeks for two different reasons; red dot brightness fell below useful levels, batteries replaced, no change. The brightness knob came loose on the other something unscrewed on the inside. The third one was bad out of the box and was returned immediately. Repair cycle is 4-6 weeks now owned by Bushnell, no refunds for mounted units so it's yours.

Placed on my SP-1 AR platform. Visible in low light,to bright sunlight.Maintains zero. Rain or shine. Several Texas coyotes would tell you of it's effectiveness...if they could!
Can't find a thing wrong with it. Will buy again.

I bought this sight with a "what the heck attitude". Wanted to try something new on my 5.56 CQB AR. Well, I was not only surprised, but blown away. The 3 moa dot is perfect even in the Florida bright sun. I have to set the brightness up bit but it is usable down to a 8 setting even lower with overcast days. For those that complain the dot is a smear. Go to the eye doctor. I have an astigmatism in my right eye and w/o my glasses that was true. However, I can now shoot one or two eyes, bright or dim light and the target acquisition is superb. I don't notice any parallax error at all. Even at 100 yards rapid fire, 1 shot per second, I can hold 2.5 inch groups all day. They all remain inside the 3 moa dot at that range. With no sighting or amplification it's perfect for close in home defense or hogs in the creek bottoms where I intend to use it. The overall quality, fit , manufacturing and glass are great. Who'd have thought for a price so low. I've run 250 rounds on the range through it and it still holds zero, is still on the original battery and continues to be consistent and tough. I am buying another just to have as a second and ought to get a third for another weapon. If you've never gone red dot and you've thought about trying one this is the way to go. It's all I need for my intended utilization. I may even mount one on my small game rifle. Worth every penny I spent on it.

This is a good product and it's high value for me. My Mini-30's ejected cases hitting the windage dial cap broke two scopes within 50 rounds each so I didn't want to spend a lot on another sight. So far after several hundred rounds all is well. I mounted this sight on a Picatinny-Style Scope Base to get the device out of the path of the ejected cases and that seems to have solved the problem. If this device were to fail, I'd likely get a higher end sight but so far it's done what I needed it to do. My only complaint, and reason for four stars, is the dot. It's not a dot but rather an oddly shaped little star-like thing. But it's usable and this is not the only "non dot" dot I've seen in this type sight.

Ordered sight-3 days later at house! Thank you Midway! Put on Saiga .308 on mount that attaches to rear sight base. Very careful to install level and straight. No boresighting, no adjustments. Stepped out back, counted off 50 long steps, set up target with center spot the size of a clay pigeon. Fired 1 time...sight was dead on for elevation and about 4 inches to the left. Easily adjusted to center. Can't talk durability yet, but sight comes with rings, clear lens covers, and screw in sun shield. Great dot size, great first shot, brightness adjustment covers any situation. Will buy another for a pistol soon.

Been using for about 6 1 hour trips to the range on my AR @ about 50-80 rds each time and battery still good and adj works well and stays on the first zero. also, using flip up front and rear, w/ Burris tac 1inch high (from rail to bottom of the 1 inch scope, you can use y'alls open sights right thru the red dot. I even used them to do initial sight in @ 25! now thats the deal!

Bought two of these a couple years ago and they have given great service. Just bought another and the dial that adjusts the red dot brightness was so tight that it took two hands to turn.Sent back to Midway and just got the replacement. Dial turns...barely. It's still too tight, but I will keep to avoid the hassle of sending it back again. Will never buy another of these as it's apparent their quality has slipped.

Recently purchased this sight to mount on a Ruger Charger. I found it to be well made and work very well. Some of the more recent reviews list problems with the dot clarity, etc. I did not experience any of those issues. As one reviewer stated, the included rings are not really useable. Other than that a great product.
