Good replacement for an old spring.

Used this spring to replace the original one on an early German 226 to avoid the frame wear caused by the original design. Worked perfectly.

I own a Sig P226 that I ...

I own a Sig P226 that I bought in 1991. It is still in almost like new condition with only 2000 rounds through it. The P226 from that time had a problem with the trigger bar that was not then apparent and Sig has never mentioned it. The metal of the bar was very hard and it would wear out the metal on the metal plate that hold the lower portion of the trigger bar. I decided to change it before any damage was noticeable with the new trigger bar. It took only a few seconds to install and because of the different shape, I had to replaced the original handles as well. The pistol feels better in my hand with the new and improve designed handles and to my surprise, the single action pull in my pistol was reduced from 5.5 pounds to 3.75 lbs. The sights now are steadier as the trigger is pulled when shooting one handed and they are perfect when shooting two handed. I have not fired any new P226's but I doubt that the new generation have a better trigger pull than mine as they advertised at 5.5 to 7 lbs out of the box. I bought the part so that it would not wear out the metal on the metal plate mentioned but the trigger pull improvement was a nice surprise. Anyone with first generation P226 like me should buy the new trigger bar and the new stocks. The pistol will feel just like new and will shoot even better. Best part is the improved trigger pull which is now like a match trigger and the cost was just around five dollars for the part plus the new handles.
