I have several of these and they are built very well compared to some of the other Mini-14 mags on the market today. Many of the negative comments here are reflective of all the available mags for Mini-14s and, in my opinion, these occur more in other manufacturers than in this particular mag. Sometimes it is helpful to use a buffing wheel to take a small amount of metal off the front of the mag (just over the "dimple" that locks into the mag well) and on the rectangular block that is at the top of the rear end of the mag - this solves most of the locking, feed failure, and bolt-related problems.

The product is well constructed, very similar to the factory one. I like it, but it does not fit Mini-14 series 180 (older model)totally. I bought one, but it won't work. Factory told me, it only fits the new model. Check with manufacture before you buy to save you trouble. Recommend manufacture list the info on the product paper label.

I ordered 2 of these magazines for my 182 series Mini-14. They won't fit into my gun. I tried rocking them in to no avail. Took them out and noticed the paint scrapped off. Tried again, more paint and metal stripped off, still didn't fit. Did an inspection with my factory mags and noticed these are larger than factory. Very disapointed. It seems others with early series Mini's have same problem.

Mag not blued as ...

Mag not blued as advertised. Appears to be powder coated. Initially mag didn't lock in rifle as it should (185 SERIES). After inserting and removing. from rifle @ 6-8 times , mag locked in as it should. Metal work is excellent. Mag functioned perfectly with both UMC 55 gr fmj amd LC M855 nato in both slow and rapid fire modes. Bolt locks open when empty.

I ordered four of these magazines. They are well made and function as intended. These are used on a Remington 700 bolt action rifle fitted with the JAG Magazine kit to take Mini 14 magazines. My only complaint about these magazines is that they are not "blued" . They are actually painted. I am not an expert to say they are powder coated, but they are painted. One had what looked like sand or dust that was not cleaned off when painted and chipped off in decent sized chunks when trying to clean them off. I am a serious shooter and, so the finish did not bother me much, I stripped them down to the white and gave them a good ol' rustoleum paint job. Which is not bad for the price. Functionality of these magazines is 5 stars, feeding and cycling well and a sturdy fit. Aesthetics is where it earned the 3 stars. The paint job sucked, it was a glossy black paint... But easily fixed.It's a good inexpensive mag if you intend to take it into the bush and looks don't matter as much as functionality.

I bought 10 of these about two years ago when they were on sale. I finally bought my 581 series stainless mini 14 as a Christmas present to myself. I've had several months and a few range sessions to see what kind of performance these mags are capable of delivering. I have 1 mag that will not feed reliably because it rocks too much in the mag well so it has been parked after just a few round because it will not always pick up a fresh round. The other magazines are hit and miss on holding the bolt open. Most will not reliably hold the bolt on the last round unless I pull the bolt back and rock the mag a bit. Maybe a different follower would help. Some will lock the bolt most of the time. Feed reliability of the nine magazines that I use regularly has been fairly good and the rifle feeds like a champ once Ive gotten the first round in the chamber even with these cheap mags. However I was out today and had a loaded mag in my rifle and an empty chamber. A coyote appeared. I attempted to rack the slide several times and my gun wasn't picking up a round. I had to pop the Wolf round out of the mag and reload it so the mag would feed. Trying to reseat the mag didn't work. These mags seem to work best if the bolt is open when you seat the mag. Not good if you need a tactical reload. So overall I say these are fair mags for range work but not really a great mag for self defense.

Bought 4 of these for my Mini-14. None would feed ammo at all. The bolt barely strips off the first round then jams before it can chamber it. Tried loading less rounds in magazine. Same problem. You can see that the top lips aren't even parallel to each other like the factory mags are. Also, the description says "blue" when these are painted. There is a difference. I'll pay the extra $$ for factory mags from now on.

Cheaply made, painted, ...

Cheaply made, painted, not blued and the paint chips off easily. Will not push the bolt lock up. I bought two of them and have the same problem with both. Also sometimes prevents you from cocking the bolt. IE: it holds it shut until you wiggle it around a little.
